My own father bragged about me having been tested by my school and scoring 144 on an IQ test _(he was a neo-con so that mattered to him)_ and how I was more capable than most kids my age to point where I tested into school early because I WANTED to get an education as young as 3. But then told me in a "heart-to-heart" how he could never vote for me REGARDLESS of who was on the other ballot(s) because I was a woman and he's Conservative Christian. Same if I became a preacher _(I'm atheist so it doesn't matter as MUCH)._ *Unironically, **_no matter how well I do my own father could never support me becoming a leader in my communities._* But sure, sexism doesn't exist and feminism is pointless. This is why even during my edgy anti-sjw phase of politics in early highschool, I NEVER thought feminism was a useless or bad thing and explicitly used the term femenazi to refer to what are now Terfs. Because those women want to control other women and undermine feminism while claiming to be feminists purely because they're "biological females". It didn't last long after finding H-bomber guy and Vaush through Shoeonhead and ChrisRayGun. 😅 I evolved from the muck lol. 😂 Edit: Tho I feel PRETTY vindicated about the TERF/Femenazi thing! 💀

See, something you learn when you have to visit a therapist on a daily basis is that your actions do not determine whether or not you are a "good" or "bad" person, but your intentions do. Doing something tells other people nothing about why you did it, you just did a thing. So when someone says free palastine, they could either care for the people, think Israel shouldn't exist or they could also be an antisemitic asshole. You can't tell the person's intentions and beliefs by just hearing them say "Free Palestine". This also works in the opposite direction. Someone could vote for Trump because they genuinely think Trump will be better for everyone. In this case the person's intention isn't to doom the US, they are just misguided and probably lied too.

I feel like I’m in bizarro world right now where Hasan is the one talking about the optics and tact of Obama saying what he is in the situation that he is (even if it’s a real issue among black men), and Vaush is the one saying “but it is true, and he’s just pointing it out that it is true so there’s no problem here.” Personally, I’m in the middle of this, I think both have good points but also make bad points about it. I think there is a wiping over of misogyny that goes on more broadly in a kind of class/race reductionist manner, and it needs to be pointed out where these issues exist. But I also think there is a liberal narrative that gets reinvented every electoral cycle about the supposed “move to the right of black men,” that is demonstrably (by voting data) bullshit, and a way of finding groups to blame for Democrat electoral failures (as leftists, we should be familiar with this by now). And a lot of that narrative comes from picking out cultural examples of conservative sounding black men and generalizing that to the whole of black men, which unironically is kinda racist, especially coupled with the “looking for people to blame” issue.

Haven't watched the segment yet, but maybe my mind will be changed after I do. The thing that makes me react negatively to the comment is that it kinda seems like the Dems are coming up with culprits for a potential loss, similar to 2016. Back then it was misogyny, which of course did play a role, but that blame came without any acknowledgement of problems within the campaign: terrible ground game, bad messaging, and the fact that Clinton was just an awful candidate. Misogyny is still hurting our candidate now, but in the face of stagnating messaging and an unwillingness to substantively acknowledge Israel's onslaught in the Middle East, it just feels so insincere.

His justification is that people can look at his content and see what he actually believes, but who would hear misogyny in a stream and first think "Oh I should quickly go and check out some of his existing content to see what Vaush's views on women are and if that was actually ironic." It's dumb. He could and should just stop doing it imo, otherwise he's just gonna keep getting these kinds of people in his chat and community

Black women often experience misogyny that intersects with anti-black racism and it's useful to have a word for that. For example, assertive black women face the stereotype that black people are aggressive and the idea that an unsubmissive woman is undesirable, leading to the caricature of the angry black woman. Black female athletes are more often accused of being trans or cheating by taking steroids than their white female and black male counterparts. Misognoir is just a shorter way of saying 'experiencing racism and sexism at the same time.'
