@print ter yes, I'm aware he's a dwarf in real life! I'm guessing/ hoping that his childhood wasn't as traumatic as tyrions, though. The speech he gave in this scene is what I was referring to. I can imagine that he had a lot of struggles and obstacles to overcome, but my comment was in regards to this particular speech and the agony he portrays as tyrion.

And for two characters who we've seen happy, cracking jokes, having a great time in Brothels- this moment always hit that much harder for me! Oberyn losing his sister and being driven by vengeance. Tyrion losing his mother - raised with 2 members of his immediate family who wished HE had died. I wish we got more of these two together!

I like that this story nearly brought Tyrion to tears, he never doubted Ceresi hated him, he had just hoped that somehow she loved a little bit, but after hearing Oberyn's story it's painstakingly clear she never loved him at all

I know this isn't a hot take but children causing that specific pain to infants is a pretty strong indicator that they have some antisocial tendencies. It's so sad to imagine a poor little baby enduring that torture and you know she did worse when no-one was around.

I always thought she did it because the Martells weren’t insulted by Tyrion. She wanted to humiliate her brother as a freak but the Martells weren’t having it so she retaliated by pinching the baby’s genitals.

Asocial is the one for people who dont like being social, anti-social is more about being aggressive when in social situations or causing disruption or harm etc. society has simply been using the wrong term and goes with it because most people ul meet will use anti social when they dont like being around people, rather than asocial

The end of the scene is Oberyn telling Tyrion he'll be his champion in his trial by combat. Oberyn's also telling him he knows who the real monsters in Tyrion's family are, and that Tyrion was never one of them, no matter what others say.

You haven't seen much sadly but that's alright. There are even books/shows/comics/movies/anime/games out there that outshine GoT in narrative, plot and characters. Not trying to take away your love for the series but letting you know that it's not peak fiction as many make it out to be, and it doesn't even come close in its own category as many will agree. GoT had the budget and others didn't is probably what differentiates GoT above others

The acting is incredible, here, but what's also incredible is the story they are telling with their verbal ripostes and jabs. As talented as Tyrion is, even he is unable to conceal that this anecdote hits him right in the heart.

Tyrion is the best character in the show, and no one will convince me otherwise. He makes every scene he is in more just by being in them. His relationships with Oberyn, Jamie, Bron, and Podrick are my favorite moments in the show.
