If I remember right in the Novel he actually uses the force as support when he kicks him but Grievous is basically designed as a Jedi killer so it doesn’t really do anything. Sadly they made him a clown in the movies but in the Novel the Jedi actually fear him to some degree because he killed quite a few.
@nickdouglas736

The Bengalee Sceptic the movie made grievous a whiny bitch and he’s far from the monster the Novel describes him as. Obi Wan is one of the most powerful Jedi at this time and the council sends him to kill grievous and not Anakin because of that.
@MasonStrand
4 жыл бұрын
He’s only a “clown” in the movies because he’s facing Anakin and Obi-Wan. He’s equally matched, and that’s who he was meant to be. He was actually previewed in the clone wars series before this movie came out, so audiences were already expecting him.
@nickdouglas736
4 жыл бұрын
@@MasonStrand he's not equally matched, he fled the ship in the battle of coruscanz because he couldn't take on both and he knew that. Fun Fact: Despite the fact that Grievous can defeat multiple Jedi Knights or Master simultaneously, Kenobi was sent alone due to his mastery of his lightsaber form. Kenobi’s form, Soresu, is all about defense, and when mastered, it’s said the user can’t be touched (notice how Obi-Wan took no damage in the first part of the fight). Kenobi had such mastery of the form that Mace Windu himself called Obi-Wan THE master of Soresu. So the Council knew that an aggressive fighter like Anakin wouldn’t be the right choice against Grievous.

Now imagine if Obi-wan had brought a team of about 4-5 other Jedi with him, the lightsaber portion of the fight is only another minute or so longer, and Grevious uses his extra arms to his advantage and cuts down all the other jedi in rapid succession before he loses a single hand? THAT would have made Grevious look really cool, and would have made Obi-wan look that much more awesome by demonstrating that he's skilled enough to bring a multi-armed, incredibly dangerous enemy down almost entirely on his own.

Stormtrooper MK-97 This was actually probably my biggest disappointment with this film, which overall had me in awe. I really wanted Grievous to hold on to all four of his lightsabers for a much longer period of the fight. It would have been harder to choreograph, but it would have been so cool that it could have been the next Darth Maul sequence.

Two Tigers Tussling Sure... thats why in less than 10 seconds obi wan cut off two hands of grievous. Obi had grievous on the run and beaten him from the very beginning, the only thing that was going for grievous was his physical strength and him being made out of metal so of course in the fist fight obis goin to lose because he is only a human with soft skin and fragile bones. Also him losing to obis force powers (even though obi had him beat in the lightsaber duel) it isn't a valid point. Force powers and lightsaber dueling are a jedis/siths way of fighting, if a jedi/sith lose either by a lightsaber or force power its fair and square. I love grievous but he isnt that great and it really doesn't make any sense how his killed so many jedi and been such a big threat. I know the clone wars say otherwise and show how he was a actual threat but the movie totally contradicts that, hell in the show and movie he runs like a little pansy everytime he starts to lose.

I will say this about the prequels. Any of the villains in them (while completely 1 dimensional) are much more threatening in design than Kylo Ren.
@Burning-Twilight
8 жыл бұрын
+Trisket They only seem one dimensional because they have less screen time than the heroes. Trust me look up the origins behind a lot of the villains. Other than Dooku a lot of them have interesting backgrounds especially Grievous if you knew his story you would know he has good reasons to hate the Jedi and the Republic.
@VirtualConnections35
8 жыл бұрын
In design yes, but Kylo Ren is so layered and complex it makes his character so much better than Maul, Dooku and Greivous combined. Kylo doesn't need a tonne of EU in order to be good in the first place
@Burning-Twilight
8 жыл бұрын
Jacob no kylo Ren was to easy to understand he is just a young man who wants to be bad but still feels the light side in him. He is in no way more complex than the three you mentioned.
@VirtualConnections35
8 жыл бұрын
+KON- EL Kylo Ren has had one movie featuring him and we know so much about him from just that one film. Maul, Dooku and Grevious has had 10 years of existence with at least one movie each and a shit load of EU surrounding them. Ren has still has so many things going about him: he's the son of Han and Leia (familial connection which the other 3 didn't have. the closest they had was Dooku being Obi Wan's master's master), he's the catalyst that ripped the original trio apart (Han went back to smuggling, Luke went into exile and Leia was left to commamd the Resistance by herself), he's conflicted by light and dark which neither of the other 3 had and his training isn't complete so he's hasn't reached his full potential (something they can evoke on in Ep 8) So yeah. Ren is much more interesting and layered than Maul, Dooku and Grevious. If it wasn't for the Clone Wars tv series then they would stil be just plain and simple villains like they were when the prequels first came out.
@Burning-Twilight
8 жыл бұрын
Jacob Burbidge All of what you said is not really a good arguing point. At best you just pointed out all the things that happened because of kylos urge to follow the dark side. that doesn't make him better character it just makes him look more important.
