The Oregon Brass Quintet plays "Oblivion," one of composer Astor Piazzolla's most beloved tangos, while associate professors Brad Garner and Shannon Mockli from the University of Oregon Department of Dance perform a tango-inspired choreography. The Argentine-born Piazzolla revolutionized traditional tango music, fusing it with elements of classical and jazz and creating a new style that came to be known as "nuevo tango."
The Oregon Brass Quintet is made up of faculty members and instructors from the University of Oregon School of Music and Dance, including: Lydia Van Dreel on horn; Sarah Viens and Aaron Kahn on trumpet; Henry Henniger on trombone; and Michael Grose on tuba.
