This piece comes from my improvisation in mid-2023, in which I felt good about its melody and floating chord progressions that don't seem to land on any strong cadences. It sat in the recording folder of my personal computer since then.
I found the record a few days ago and felt it has the potential to develop and write down into an actual piece. The first minute of the piece is also straight from my improvisation. I make just a few adjustments on this part. The following parts are added afterward, taking the idea from the previous part.
Because of the fleeting melodic contour over the floating harmony that doesn't land on any strong cadences, I can picture the full moon in the night sky. The melody, moreover, returns on the same note that doesn't seem to get along with the harmony, but not to clash in a strong dissonance. It is like the moon that stays over there, far out of our reach, sending its warm golden light at night.
The piece seems to land on the loose Rondo form (I feel like I write a lot of pieces in this form unintentionally; maybe, just subconsciously) and comes out nicely. I have put on the timestamp for the entire piece below.
Hope you enjoy my music, and feel free to leave some thoughts or comments about the piece. Thank you.
