Ocasek and Orr Benjamin Orr Very Rare Audio Song I uploaded this to celebrate a special date which would have been Benjamin's 73rd birthday which is September 8th, 2020 to honour Benjamin and also the musical partnership with Ric Ocasek. This song is called Never Gonna Get Over You and I believe it was written by Ric Ocasek. Benjamin and Ric share vocals as far as I can tell. Benjamin plays bass as well. Because the purpose is to non-commercially educate and offer a critical assessment, this fan made video is being uploaded under the terms of Fair Use. No copyright infringement intended. I have used photos of Benjamin and The Cars I found on the net and I used my own photographs of my beautiful adopted island home Tasmania (as a backdrop). Please contact me if you took any of these photos and would like © added to this, however I am doing this as labour of love and no profit is made from any of my videos. I also added some photos of myself to this and no disrespect is intended. I also used some photos by Robert Post © Here is Robert's website and you can purchase photos and more, this link goes to The Cars, there are other great photos as well from other musicians @ robertpost.smu... I tried to clean up the sound of this recording as well as I could with an equalizer and so on and hope that the time I spent on this shows in the quality as I wanted this to be special as I love this song and I believe I made about 10 different versions and kept trying to get it better to honour the song. Here is some more information about the song and the times as well as bit of background on Richard and The Rabbits, sadly I do not have anything to share from that band. This song was recorded in either late 1974 or early 1975 as Fuzzbee Morse kindly explained to me . It was also performed with Cap'n Swing the previous inCARnation of The Cars. . As far as I am aware Benjamin shared vocals on this with Ric and also played bass. About Richard and The Rabbits Fuzzbee Morse kindly explained and here it is :Twilight Superman and Start It All Again were both recorded by Richard and the Rabbits very early on, probably late '73 with Ric, Ben, Greg, Fuzzbee Morse and either Jesse Henderson or Glenn Evans on drums, recorded at The Poor Farm studios. Fuzzbee believes that Richard and The Rabbits ended in October 1974. Fuzzbee also mentioned this : The last Richard and the Rabbits sessions, which were pretty great, were the same band except for Ron Riddle on drums. Ron was the drummer on all live Rabbits performances. Those last sessions happened late in '74 at another studio in Mass. That was a helluva band! * Special thanks to Fuzzbee Morse for all this wonderful detailed information*
I also since then bought a re mastered version of this from Glenn Evans from the Cap'n Swing version and love this version very much.
As far as the other video I created from Ocasek and Orr, it is Everyday which was by Buddy Holly, you can also watch a video I created .Here is the link for Everyday, the Buddy Holly cover sung by Benjamin @ • Ocasek & Orr *Benjamin... In 1974 to 1976 Ric and Benjamin also worked as a duo as *Ocasek and Orr*. On the information about these songs I uploaded it mentioned that they were from 1974 however in the wonderful biography by Joe Milliken called Let's Go! Benjamin Orr and The Cars there is a mention by Tom Yates who believed that these songs were recorded after Richard and The Rabbit were disbanded so it could have been in late 1974. I would like to perhaps help a younger audience find out about more about The Cars and Benjamin and become fans.
