@@justinfreeland708. I'm glad you came by to hear about JESUS, the One and Only Begotten SON OF GOD. The Only Resurrected Man, God, Lord, Savior, Master, Redeemer, and King of ALL kings, including your allah. Hope you feel His love, and come to know Him personally. And... RECEIVE His forgiveness for ALL your sins - past, present, future. AND ... CHOOSE to be His child, so you can have eternal life RIGHT NOW by faith in Jesus! ... And... NOT have to wait till you die to find out IF allah is pleased with you - to determine whether your good deeds outweighed your bad deeds; so you may enter a 'paradise' with perhaps, virgins only. (How unfortunate for all other devoted married islamists. Also... NOT a very good way to be assured that your god loves you.) With JESUS you can know right now (He first loved us; and while we were yet sinners, Christ came and died for us to cleanse us from all sin and restore us back to the Holy Father as His children). All this can happen right now, IF you sincerely call on Jesus and REPENT - ask Him to change your sin-proned, sin-filled heart; and forgive you of all your sins. HE said: "And ye shall seek me, and find me, WHEN ye shall search for me with all your heart" (Jeremiah 29:13). Blessings to you in Christ Jesus, the soon-coming King of kings and Lord of ALL lords!

It’s one of several tools people can use to try and find out the facts. As for Snopes, on what do you base your claim that it is not accurate? I don’t know what to make of you advising people to not use any fact checking sources. The only people I’ve ever known to say something like that are Fox News viewers, viewers of RT or One America or Breitbart or Tucker Carlson….all of the disseminators of misinformation and Russian propaganda, and people who are paid trolls or who otherwise have an interest in dividing Americans along superficial ideological lines.

They DESPERATELY need to add this to worship music in church; and ditch the funeral dirge type music they call modern Christian pop. It has no life to it. People don’t even want to sing along. You’d think they’d get a clue from that. People aren’t singing loudly or at all because it’s stupid, trite music, and has no life to it. At my church or watching others online, it’s always the same old dull, dull, dull, and almost no one is singing with the worship team, the few who are are practically whispering, and even the worship team sounds pretty awful if we are being honest. And we must be honest. People don’t come to church to be bored to tears. The joy of the Lord should be there, and how can it be there with cookie-cutter “Christian” pop? We are there to express the JOY we have for God, not what sounds like whining at best and despair overall. Fake whining, fake emoting is prevalent in most Bible based churches today, and it is just…weird. It’s weird. Whiny music…I just wonder how God can tolerate it. I guess he filters with his God ears, but still…I’m sure he’d prefer more sincere, unbridled joy. It’s very whiny, and surely they must know that Abba Father has said how much he dislikes whining. Even when David wrote his Psalms, even when he was struggling, and was on the run and had good reason to express fear and worry, and despair, his words had more feeling. I’m sure his music for them did, too, since he was an energetic man of passion, and made instruments just for the worship of God. He doesn’t strike me as the whiny, wimpy type. Everything he did was high-energy, dancing for the Lord, he was very into finding every way he could to express his love for God. Surely that’s why God was so fond of him. I doubt anyone has ever exceeded David’s exuberance and variety in just musical instruments alone, and ways to express himself to God. This song does have great life to it, and I’d bet there’d be more joy and participation and true worship if the average worship team ditched the dull dirges and added this song, some like Elvis Gospel songs, and some upbeat, lively songs like you’d find in a good Southern Gospel choir (usually known to be sung by wonderfully super-energetic and joyful black people, singing happily and drawing everyone into it, you can’t help but feel better when they’re singing), so add those kinds of songs! You’ll get more coming back and more singing along…

Ever since I sincerely and wholeheartedly put my hand in the hand of the man who stilled the water, life just keeps getting more interesting and intriguing with each passing day. I start each day by saying, " Lord, may everything I do, think, and say this day be pleasing in your sight." I'm not perfect at executing His will, I know, but just knowing that He's present to support, encourage, instruct, strengthen, and accompany me on my earthly sojourn makes the journey so much more rewarding both for myself and for those i come into contact with. I wouldn't go back to "running the show" for anything.

This was the first song I ever performed in public, it was a Sunday afternoon church service at the Salvation Army's "Harbour Light Center", a housing facility for men on "Skid Row" in Seattle. They'd have to sit through the church service and then they'd get a good meal and a bed for the night. It was summer 1972, I was 13 years old and the Salvation Army was my parents church. My mother would frequently be called upon to assist with the Sunday meal preparations and she'd take me with. The pastor/clergy (The S.A. calls their clergy "Officers" and the laity are referred to as "soldiers") was a long time friend of my parents and asked me to "do a little number" for the service. I was scared to pieces, but I sang with all my might and I only remember the 40-50 people in the pews giving me a real nice round of applause when I finished.

I thought about this song and looked it up. I am writing a sermon to preach this Sunday titled: From Judgeship To Sainthood. I am talking about how people judge and condemn others, not realizing that if we looked at ourselves, we'd see others differently because all have sin(ned) and come short of the Man from Galilee. As this song informs us, we are no different than those he cleared out of the Temple. He is our righteousness and not we ourselves. Awesome message in this awesome song.

Wow, you got a reply from the person who actually sang the song in this band. Put Your Hand In The Hand is a great song. I like how they traded off singing lead in this song. Not that Jan couldn't sing it all, but it showed talent from the musicians. I'm recording it next, on Monday. I sing, play bass guitar, dance and show a lot of emotion. I did Oh Happy Day last week, and Amazing Grace and Swing Down Sweet Chariot before that. I thought I better do Gospel songs now that the rapture is almost here. Plus I been preaching hard again. But I have a lot of fun playing music. May God bless you.

And what evidence do you have the rapture is almost here? Also isn't it like a single verse in the bible that has been construed to think that there would even be a rapture. Seriously personally I think God will send everyone through the tribulation. Wouldn't that truly be a test of faith? Why do just normal everyday people get let off the hook? It's not like God let Job off the hook without testing his faith did he? you know everyone has been saying the rapture is gonna happen for over 2000 years. Oh and another question that bugs the shit out of me. God created Cain and Able but by being more pleased with Ables gifts over Cain it created jealousy in Cain. So in essence didn't God really cause Cain to kill Able? But then again theorizing about the rapture based entirely off a book translated by a guy (King James) who wasn't even there and had a bias to put what he wanted to in the book is kind of the opposite of a sane mind.

ilililhy1 Amen, we don't know when His return is or when disaster strikes. Life can end any day for any of of us. We have to be ready to meet our Maker. I was bold for Jesus last night preaching in front of a Bruno Mars concert. I have videos. Monday I did the Justin Timberlake concert and made 6 videos. Last weekend I did the Jazz Festival with 10 videos. I just did street preaching 4 of the last 7 days. It's been one of my best weeks ever, if not THE best. May God bless you even more.

Talk about bass! This song is all about bass. Comes through loud and clear, almost like a counter melody.

Stanley TryHard agree about the bass! That’s Jeff Jones who went on to play with Tom Cochrane and Red Rider. And before that, was the original bass player and front man for Rush for a short while in ‘68.

@@80sRokker You probably know more than I do, but the story I heard was that Geddy and Alex started Rush but Geddy's family took an extended summer vacation in '68 and Alex replaced him with Jeff during that period. I don't know if the plan was for him to be a permanent replacement or a temporary one, but Geddy ended up back in the band when his family returned. Considering Geddy's "unique" vocal range, it might have been tempting to keep Jeff even with Geddy & Alex's childhood friendship.

Excellent live version! I really enjoy the bass guitar line in this one too, Jeff Jones throws in some cool extra notes here compared to the original.

我在台灣1971年聽过這一首歌,当年不知歌的歌詞,原來是唱耶稣的流行歌曲。(I heard this song in 1971 in Taiwan, i didn’t understand the lyrics. Now, I finally find out it is about Jesus Christ.)

Billy Graham mentioned the song in 1971 during a sermon he preached as the Jesus revolution was taking hold across the US. He said the youth of the country are singing about the 'man who calmed the seas'.....as many of the 60's and 70's hippies became disillusioned with sex, drugs and rock & roll and 'turned their eyes upon Jesus'.

Sure didn't impact our society if they did. Country going straight to hell for generations. My WWII generation Dad used to tell me that America wouldn't survive the "sick '60's." He was right. We have the dope, perverted sex (throw in porn and abortion), America hate, selfishness, green foolishness, etc., of that period that now dominates everything like the smoke from the now recreationally legal devil weed...as if we didn't have enough mental and educational problems here. 1960's triumphant; straight from Haight-Asbury. Btw, ground zero for all of it was SF...in a shambles.
