The Vancouver Public Library (VPL) presented acclaimed film scholar, writer, and director Kier-La Janisse in conversation with Carolyn Mauricette, Director of Canadian Programming of the Fantasia Festival and Programmer for Blood in the Snow Film Festival.
The conversation focused on Kier-La Janisse’s impressive documentary Woodlands Dark and Days Bewitched, which is a deep exploration of the folk horror genre. It won Best Documentary at the 2021 Fantasia International Film Festival and the Midnighter’s Audience Award at SXSW, and has gathered a big fan base along the way.
