For years I had been asking my husband if he wanted me to knit him a sweater, but he didn’t want the pressure of having to wear it if it he didn’t like it. Unfortunately he absolutely loved it, and now I have to knit him one every year 😅🙄. I’m currently making him the Lanark sweater by Rebeca Clow in a very foresty green color from Rauwerk

I’m knitting my husband a Lanark, too. 🤓 I made him some socks and he wears them ALL the time, so I concluded he deserved his first hand knit sweater 😬🤞🏼 It does look shallow in the knit flat part before joining in the round so am thinking I will block it before knitting any more of the body just to check if it fits. Hope yours is going well!

@@verylikecheryl We can have our own Lanark kal 🥳. I’m knitting size 4 and modified the armhole’s depth. I’ve compared it with his favorite sweater and so far it’s looking good 🤞🏼. Good luck with yours ! Let me know if it was a success like the socks 🤗

Just a warning on the Mondim-I’ve made several pairs of socks with it and all of them have gotten holes very quickly( heels and area under toes. I’ve watched several podcasters who had had similar problems. I would advise using mohair or another sock yarn for those areas. I wouldn’t use it for socks again.

When you talk about the length of your sweaters it almost makes me cringe because I'm older and all I see are crop sweaters crop sweaters crop sweaters everywhere and I know that I can knit them longer and I do but it sure would be nice to see the models in the two different lengths so that I can actually see how the finish look would look but I can't. I always see these crap things for 20 something and I'm 60 something so it's a problem for me. I would look so silly in a crop top plus I have a little bit of a belly after having twins 38 years ago . I just wish that they would make sweaters and model them in a crop style and a regular length style so that we could see them. Longer to desired length. But it would be nice to see it on a model.

one of my favorite things about knitting is how we can customize our clothes to be perfect for us! whenever I'm worried about how a sweater might look on my body, I look at the ravelry projects and the instagram hashtag to see how other knitters have made it work for them. It's definitely helpful for getting a better idea of how it will look on lots of different people!

You're right about the fixalong, without thinking about your challenge I decided I would fix a few things recently, and one of them is a very nice ans warm pair of knitted socks that I thrifted a long time ago. One of the threads had snapped and they spent a whole year in storage because of that. Well it took me a few minutes, and now I have a "new" pair of socks to wear, it's amazing ^^ (I simply paused the video to say this, so I might have more comments later)

Hi Anna! You’re glowing - even if you don’t feel that way. Pregnancy feels long when you’re in it. I’d love either baby knit video because I really enjoy your taste and preferences. I don’t have babies to knit for at this time but it would be great to have documented! Take care! Lorien

I‘d personally love a video of your favourites baby knits (free and paid). My niece/nephew will be joining the family around April so I‘ll be grateful for your take on what knits would be gladly received. Also so glad that my Gia Zipper Genser project on Ravelry (beigeknits) could be of use to you. So fun to be surprised by my sweater as well as our living room floor and an old moving box/blocking mat on a podcast I‘ve been loving since it first came out. Wishing you a great day and all the best for your pregnancy, work course and holiday festivities 🤍

Wonderful WIP you have going. Love them all. I know babies love high contrast things to look at so for what its worth I think the white is perfect in your pressed flower blanket. I too would also work the slip stitches and not the purl bumps. Exciting times ahead. :)

Do you think the Miles Jacket would be okay knit in Briggs and Little Roving? If so how many strands of yarn would you use?

This weekend I added a collar and lengthened the sleeves on one sweater, and also lengthened the sleeves of another. So good to get things done like that.

You might want to try Manchelopi from Wool Dreamers. It’s a lovely unspun that is wound double stranded, so it’s a bit more sturdy. And, of course, Nutiden really is to die for. The hype is justified.

I would love a video on postpartum/maternity knitting patterns for changing bodies and baby wearing/nursing. Love how you talked about it in this video. And I would recommend making larger baby knits than you think. She is gonna grow so fast, my boy is 5 months and is sizing up to 9-12m. I have a 1-2 year sweater for him on my needles and I’m hoping it will fit him by the time I finish. Also when you get there, tactics for how to knit with a baby… I’m currently finding time only during his nap while we snuggle and I knit behind him. Sending so much love from snowy Alaska!

Hii!! I always love your knitting podcasts and the peaceful vibes that come from them!! So I recently bought some plotulopi and I want to make the riddari sweater by lopi design but my problem is I was originally going to hold it one strand on 3.5mm and 4.5mm needles but now I'm concerned I should hold it double? What do you think? Thank you so much!
@apt.atelier
11 ай бұрын
I've knit with plotulopi held single before with very few problems! it breaks apart a little more easily than the briggs and little, but it's so sticky that it's easy to get the ends to hold on to each other when you put it back together, and the finished fabric is very strong. you should be just fine!

Hey Anna! I just watched both of your latest videos back to back :) Congratulations on your pregnancy! About the Gia Zipper Sweater: how easy are you finding the pattern to follow? I have the booklet and have this awesome idea to use my alpaca bouclé in two colors for it, but the pattern seems confusing to read through. How is it while working on it? Hoepfully not too bad? As for the baby knits video: Personally I would love to see your plans but as a youtube video maker I know *freee* pattern videos do very well, so yeah.. that would be my advice haha ;) x

It's working up okay! the instructions can be kind of confusing, but it makes more sense once you actually get going. The only part that I've found a little tricky is the way they describe picking up stitches for the collar, but if you've made a few sweaters before I don't think you would have trouble with it. I bet it would be really cool in boucle yarn!
