Just a heads up! At 5:25 I said party banter never involves more than 3 people at a time. This isn't true. I should have said "Rarely ever more than 3 people at a time." It does happen, it's just incredibly uncommon.

Tark, you are awesome. I've been subscribed to you for a while and I really enjoy the content you are putting out. Your reviews are way more in-depth than other channels (like IGN) and you always mention the important things. It's really weird how your channel doesn't have 100k+ subscribers yet! I really enjoy your waifuware series for example, because you bring it in a funny way while still being relatively serious. It's unique as well! Keep doing what you're doing! Oh yeah, also, your video and audio quality are really good. I wish I could donate to your patreon, but I'm just a poor university student. Whenever I get a steady job and enough money to allow donations, your channel will be the first. Thank you for your content! About this review: I agree with everything you've said, but I do feel that the music in this game needs more recognition. It's seriously one of the best soundtracks in jrpgs imo. The battle and boss themes are so catchy, beautiful yet hype when you battle. I know it's a personal thing though.

Thanks! Comments like this mean a ton! Don't worry too much about patreon stuff, if you're here that's enough for me to be thankful. My channel will hopefully grow in time, but to put it lightly, my content caters to some very small niches haha. It might be hard to grow but I'll keep at it!
@Chileno4Live

@@TarksGauntlet it's true that your content is niche, but I'm certain you'll grow a lot! You're seriously one of my favourite channels to watch just because of that niche content, so it has its upsides as well! I'm sure more people feel this way. One thing I forgot to mention is your way of speaking. It sounds very natural!

Really, really thank you for this review. I watched Jay RPG's so called review kind of, and I couldn't even understand what the game is all about. After I watched yours, I can get a good picture of what the game is all about. As for whether or not I want this game, I'll pass this one and I maybe buy it on a discount. Sorry but the lack of interaction between the party members does put me off.

LoL yeah, H'annit's dialog drove me nuts too :p OMG I lost it at 4:15 even though I DO like Olberic but you're right 😂 I didn't even notice the tearing in my time with it but I think the rest of the eye candy kept me pretty overwhelmed. Right now I'm 65ish hours in and have 5 chapter 4's left to complete but definitely one of my favorite games of the year! The only real gripes I have with it are that the gameplay loops start to get a little repetitive after you've gone through them 20 or 30+ times and the auto-target for some items is weird. For example, if I'm trying to cure a silenced party member and there's only one silenced character in the party, why would it target someone who isn't suffering this ailment?!
@TarksGauntlet
6 жыл бұрын
It took me a bit to understand what you meant about "Item target" but I think I got ya. Yeah, it doesn't always make sense. I seen other games do it too, and at the worst of times it makes me accidentally use revives on people who don't need them. Maybe they'll change that with a patch eventually.

I think being level 70+ for the post-game dungeon is overkill. I went in (2nd attempt since I ignored leveling a couple characters) with levels ranging from 55-60. It made the final battle really fun and tense, since I had to adapt strategy midway through the fight as situations changed.
@TarksGauntlet

My first attempt I had 3 people around lvl60 on my phase 1 team. It went well for about 10 minutes then the boss got 2 moves back to back. Whole team went from full to ko. Nothing I could do about it. After the gauntlet that you go through to get to the final boss I was pissed lol. I definitely recommend at least 70. Especially if you don't know what's coming and have a strategy yet. Even at 70 the battles still tough, and takes roughly an hour. Not something I'd have the patience to try too many times.

Yeah, sorry if it's a bit late. It's a really long game and I like to make sure patreon gets to have video's at least 1 week early, so the release of this video kind of lagged behind a bit.

I sometimes rarly play demos for what for you to expect in the game when release; That's if they have demos available. And then I judge if I want to buy the full game.

I know this is super late... butt if you love the graphics the PC version wayy better.. and the fact u can manually edit the ini/cfg file makes it the best version.. like getting rid of the DoF/forced blurrness... un-blurd/dof of this game is best version of the game

This game was a big letdown to me because of the lack of eye candy, fanservice, scantily clad hot bitches, etc. a JRPG without them feels wrong and empty. I couldn't even finish the game and I regret buying it

I just never liked turn-based rpgs, but this review was great. If it wasn't the combat that would turn me off, it'd be that the characters stories don't intertwine. This is lame imo. These small piece storylines is just uninspired in such a game.

The vignette filter constantly on screen makes this game look so claustrophobic. Kinda ruins the art direction.

They usually irritate me as well, but with this game I found it combined will with the focus effects. If it makes any difference it can be disabled in the options menu.

Tarks Gauntlet Oh really nice. I have an autistic issue with vignette filters, it seriously makes me quit games sometimes. Only time it works is in flashback scenes, enhance claustrophobia, focusing on something, or horror games. I straight up quit guild wars 2 because it bothered me so much.

3:04 Lmao, poor kitty. Dope review as always man. I think Ima pick it up next year at some point. The multiple character arcs that don't truly interweave turns me off.. like a lot. Also the game being 80+ hours is a turn off as well for me. I already have plenty of games that take entirely to long to 100%, would much prefer if it was about half the size. Outside of that, I think I love everything else about it.
