Odette comes from the golden era of composers and songwriters that made OPM world class. Ryan Cayabyab, Willy Cruz, George Canseco, Odette Quesada, Cecile Azarcon, Louie Ocampo, Ben Escasa, Vehnee Saturno, Jose Mari Chan, Marizen Yaneza, Trina Belamide, Snaffu Rigor, Christine Bendebel, Aaron Paul, Ogie Alcasid to name a few.

I agree. I checked the list of National Artist for music. Kahit si George Canseco wala. If one of the criteria in becoming a national artist is how your music affected the lives of millions of people from the 80's up to now then I guess Odette deserves to be a national artist together with George Canseco. Guys we are talking about 5 decades.

Odette should go back to writing more songs for new artists. Not that i didn't want her singing. But her expertise as a songwriter is needed more than ever specially the quality of songs she writes. Also to help new artists achieve international success. Her songs are world class, fit for international audiences. Yan Ang kulang sa mga new artists Ngayon. They get popular by covering songs of western artists but not enough songs to create their own identities. To be fully recognized as international caliber artists they need original beautiful songs of their own and Odette will be a big help.
