I know how confusing this is, but I am afraid the knife reviewed above is not the Viking, but actually the newer model - Helle Saga Siglar. It is mentioned on the cylindrical box as well at 0:27. Although extremely similar, Saga Siglar has shorter blade and a bit longer handle and is also lighter. To add to the confusion, Helle uses the same sheath for both models... :) Great video, otherwise, thanks a lot!

Nice first look! FYI the spine will "not" spark a ferro rod, because it is not a 90° spine, it is slightly rounded and will drive you crazy if you try to use it on a fire steel. You're welcome to grind a 90° angle on it to achieve a lip that can strike and make a spark. Thanks for the video!

I do see the visual idea of the handle design but I am not sooo keen on that squarish appearance. I’ve thought about getting this and the sanding the handle so as to be more like a classic mora handle. It would probably screw the finish, and there is the teardrop shape to take into consideration - but you’d get what I consider to be the more familiar mora feel, with a sturdier blade and, I guess maybe a better steel …

@@OdinswolfSurvival thanks! Will do. I realize it doesn’t have a 90 degree spine- but I believe when push comes to shove (survival mode) you could probably use to create sparks and baton wood. ?

@briantodd4887 a bit of work on a stone the spine will sharpen up. Yes if you are careful you could baton wood but I rarely do with a knife. A wedge us fast and easy to make and won't risk the tool you need

@@larsvab3690 Have Helle Viking and Mora Bushcraft, use them both. Not possible Viking is better. Mora Bushcraft 50 x better in everything from blade to handle. Like Viking its simple design only.
