Well , you may have your engine for the Nomad. Still up to you. You know what’s best for you. And proving that there’s nothing you can’t do once you have your mind set on it Lee. Thank you for sharing!

Where you need to solder is Under the shift / odometer indicator piece that you didn't bend back far enough. That's where you need to check for the cracked solder.... and it's the end strip, nearest to the center of the circuit board that controls the lighting for your shift position (If it's a slush box [automatic]), and odometer / tripmeter lighting (or, just the odo / trip with a manual). Good video.

Good things come to those who wait. Put an affordable paint job on her, fix the rear and a few other bits and you got a real nice profit. It's easier to find a good motor than to find a good complete popular truck.

The EVAP system is in front of the back wheel on the driver side it's a square box it's about $100 to replace then you have a filter for the EVAP by the gas cap and you have a evap sensor but a throttle body under the hood.

I would fix up the Silverado and then sell it. If it's in good shape as you say. financially that would be the thing to do. Nice job figuring out the instrument panel. I'm looking forward to you decision and next video. Rich/NJ

I’ve got 400k out of two different trucks like this. My 2000 z-71 I bought new went to 424k before I replaced the engine. Still running too.

A lot of work changing the rear end, driveshaft, complete paint job, and who knows what else you'll have to fix besides that, probably brake lines all that. At least with the Nomad you know what you got. So you fix all that on the truck now you're spending all the profits to buy stuff for the Nomad anyways. Don't make sense to me, I'd take that good motor and put it in a good car, scrap the truck and focus on the rare Nomad that's a 1 off custom. Those trucks are by no means rare. Plus that 5.3 LS will rip in the Nomad ! You only got 300 in the truck you'll get that back in scrap after you pull the motor out still, so basically you have a free motor. Sounds like a no brainer to me. Ok Boss that's my 2 cents. Be good brother! 👍😉✌

Sell the truck whole, because LS swapping is way more headaches than it's worth to save a couple of nickels in fuel. You got what it takes to find you a legit easy install drivetrain. You are skilled to the brim, just have a little faith & patience and you'll be rolling down the road in style with a smile.

@@matthewbegin3462 Right on. But it's better to make bank on the truck with minimal werk, than to LS swap. C&C can salvage him a drive train on the cheap from a clunker that would fit in easier than an LS.
