Fort Lauderdale is the largest of Broward County's 31 municipalities and one of the ten largest cities in Florida. Named for Major William Lauderdale, the city of Fort Lauderdale was incorporated on March 27, 1911 and encompasses approximately 35 square miles, boasting a population estimated at 186, 220.
Fort Lauderdale features 165-miles of inland waterways earning its "Venice of America" moniker and supports a diverse mix of industries including avionics/aerospace, finance, manufacturing, marine and film/television production. As an in demand location for startup, growing or relocating businesses, Fort Lauderdale has become a top-notch hub for international business.
