This is a rebranded Fire Maple fixed star x2 or x3. Karrimor used to make a rebranded one too which I got for £35. Think there is a video of it on my channel. They are very well made bits of kit.

Quick tip, on the pan attachment, once you have slotted it on, it you turn it, the little tabs will go under the indents that hold pot on to make sure it doesnt fall off :D

I got one of these based on your review. It does boil quick and its well made. My only complaint is. I dont like the locking mechanism for the pot to the stove. It expands with heat and makes it dodgy to uncouple it. I have ground the holes bigger with a Dremel to solve this issue. now it locks easy and comes apart easy.

Hi Love the videos and reviews. Yours, and others, are really great for seeing how I could change how I do things to make walks, camps, experiences better and more enjoyable. Your question, 'Is it heavy?' Tacana 619g - Trangia 27 (with2 pans, pot grab, frying pan, kettle and burner) 720g and 50-100g per day for fuel. And the Trangia is silent - the apotheosis of quiet camping. Does it matter that it takes 2 mines - or 7 minutes to boil water? (I have recently converted to the Trangia that has sat on the shelf for many years. It is bulky. It has more parts than most. It is relatively light, flexible in use - and you could leave some of it at home!) I need to save weight weight in my pack as I get older - and I still want to cover 20-25 miles per day. I think that the trend towards light and fast stoves is unnecessary for most of us! Weight savings, in the overall scheme of things, are pretty slight - and may only be significant for mountain marathons etc. I've swapped boots for trail runners for summer treks, reviewed the amount and type of clothing for multi-day hikes, bought a lighter rucsac, down sleeping bag(s), water filter... And, as last resort, I could lose a stone or two! Keep up the fabulous work!

Using the smallest gas canister, it all fits inside itself - hence 'cooking system'. Sadly, everything's made in China these days - even the very expensive 'Jetboil' cooking system - Planet X are now selling these 'Fire-Maple' cooking systems from £25 - even a coffee-press version... If you don't like the branding on any of these cooking systems, turn the neoprene inside out... Thanks, its great to see down to earth honest reviews

Still prefer my Swedish Army M40 mess kit. More versatile - can be used with methylated spirits or wood for fuel, which is easier to come by than gas cylinders which you can only find in camping shops, and it comes with a frying pan. Only benefit of gas is speed of cooking.

Nice Vlog. I'm a qualified gas Engineer. A few tips. 1) When screwing on to the gas canister if it won't seal & blows gas everywhere DO NOT carry on......throw it to one side AWAY from any sources of ignition......Why? The gas even if not burning can give you a "freeze" burn which is not nice. 2) Piezo ignition will let you down eventually 3) If you have a heart condition then light it with a lighter as piezo admits high voltages 4) Piezo doesn't like moisture and will short out 5) Small burner heads are great for boiling water but crap for frying & cooking control. Hope this helps.

Cute leaning-tower you got there. The tripod base looks quite useless, because if you look properly, when you hold it up at exactly @5:50 you can see that if you draw a line between the 3 support ends, that line touches the outer-edge of the canister. So it has 3 sides where ithe support is no wider than the can´s original diameter. The support needs 4 feet to correct this, instead of having just 3. I also find that the tall leaning tower is not ideal. These need a lower wider pot (wider may seem more tippy, but it need not be wider by much for the same capacity and lower the height by a lot - for a lower center of gravity.
