Being an electrician for a while now, we usually use at least 20ft (usually the full length of the pipe) of double poly tie twine double/triple hitched around the nose of that wire then pull it through the pipe. Since its PVC and you don't anticipate any trouble do at least 20ft double poly tie for going around the 90's, just so much easier. Use wire lube on the nose when pulling the wires into pipe to make it so much easier. Just some tips. I have pulled thousands of wires in some more then questionable conduits others have put in. Nice work, you look like a good team!

Big weight off your back. That was both physical and mental load. Ola when your wait for the fish tape wire either wear safety glasses or don’t put your eye near the pipe that wire can come out of that hole real fast Albert faster than you will be able to move. You guys are lucky you work and communicate so well. Ola also way impressed with you mud skills and strength all that overhead work pretty incredible.

As a Master Electrician here's a tip when making long wire pulls into conduit. Set your reels up across the room and have your helper pull one "pulls" worth off of the reels and feed it to you...the two of you will get into a rhythm as you go along. This makes it so you're not trying to turn the reels with every pull, you helpers is doing that...they also make "Wire EZ" pulling lube that make things lots easier...thanks for letting us follow along!

Glad to see the progress! FYI - I run 2 x 12,000w AIMS like yours for my off-grid home system. This year, after 25,000hrs (5 yrs) of operation, one of the AIMS started putting out 'spurious' AC voltages and I had to get the control board repaired - took over a month. My thought is, you might want to think of a backup plan - maybe be able to switch between the 6000w and 12,000w relatively quickly in case one of them needs repair/replace. I have cross-feed wiring/interlock-breakers between each AIMs distribution panel so I can continue on 1 x AIMS when the other is down.

be cautious with using jumper cables for wire. The reason they are so much cheaper is that they are almost aways made using COPPER CLAD WIRE. Basically it is aluminum or steel wire that is copper plated. You need to size it as aluminum wire if you can't find a copper clad sizing chart for the particular brand. Note, I am not saying that you can't use it, or that it won't work, just reminding you to size it and use it appropriately.

Nice work. Back in the day we used a product called SOAP only when in tight conduit. Liquid dish or hand soap also works but not as well. It is a good idea to always run a FISH wire with the cable to avoid snarling with later cable installs in the same conduit. Ron PTL USA.

I'd like to pour the concrete aprons first, that way we avoid any "splash-up" from the wet concrete landing on the new sheet metal. I'm hoping we can get the concrete done in the next 6 weeks and then do the siding but that depends on weather and funding. haha

23:00 The myth about battery on a concrete floor is not an issue with modern battery cases. That may have been true when battery cases were made from steel or hard rubber but is not true with highly insulative polycarbonate plastic cases of today.

Nice work and I enjoy your videos. One little thing, zip tying wires together is not a good idea. When the wires are close together they will induce current in adjacent wires causing a loss of power.

What is the reason you had your big inverter power your smaller one? And not run them both off the batteries. If something goes off your larger inverter everything goes off 🤔.
@MountainMapleRanch
11 ай бұрын
They are not connected that way. They both feed off the batteries but feed out to separate panels. The only reason for a larger and a smaller is becuse we bought the smaller one first and then realized we would need a much larger one to run the shop items. :)
