I bought, gutted, and renovated this van back 2020. I had never done anything like this before and was very unfamiliar with building anything, but I’m super proud of how it turned out.
All of the walls, the ceiling, and the floor are properly insulated. The walls and ceiling are tongue and groove cedar, and the cabinets are homemade with tongue and groove pine. I learned all the Solar information on KZitem and it was super fun to learn about.
It is definitely not perfect. There are small gaps between the walls the the ceilings, some of my cuts are not as precise as they should be, there are little things all over this van that nobody would notice but me.
Basically saying, you can tell that it was my first time building out a van. But all in all, looking back after 4 years, I’m proud of myself for taking the jump and diving head first into a project like this!
It took me about 1 full year to convert the van. From first driving it home, to screwing the last screw. Keep in mind I was working a full time job and lived 3 hours from the closest lumber store, so it would have been done sooner.
Been meaning to make this van tour video for several years now, but here we finally are! I have a lot of great memories and fun times in this van.
Thanks for watching!
