This is a description of the album:
Dreaming of you, Tulsa is an exploration of memory and how it relates to feelings, thoughts, and intuitions. Each song on this album represents a different memory of Tulsa, and what I felt during that period of my life. As you listen to the album, I get older. So it's a coming of age album of sorts, composed in the form of an unfolding diary. Most songs reference an actual location in Tulsa where I had some sort of meaningful experience. For example two songs reference Turkey Mountain, a walking trail in south Tulsa. To an outsider, Turkey Mt. is merely a boring generic trail like any other. To me, however, it is endowed with the significance of Mt. Sinai or Mt. Vesuvius, because of how it is connected to my personal memories. Woodward Park is my Paris, Utica Square is my Rome, Harweldon is my Eden, etc. So it is with each place mentioned here, for the places we have our deepest life experiences become embedded upon our souls as a unique mythology that endows them with energy and meaning for as long as we live. The theme of the album was heavily inspired by the work of Marcel Proust, who the album is dedicated to, and who I discovered in the Tulsa library in 2009 by the grace of God.
