The fact that this is 3 minutes while all the others are 8+ is why I clicked on it. Thanks.

Excellent, concise video. Some folks can be so long winded... We don't need to know the history of pipe smoking, what your grandpa smoked, or what color your socks are. Thank you for sharing!

When you were describing too thick of a pack, I thought to myself "like a shake from In-N-Out" and then you took the words right out of my head 🤣🤣

I think pipes and winter go better if you smoke outside specifically. You can load a shorter bowl when it’s cold outside.

Thanks for sharing. I made the error of not packing it up to the brim with the initial starting packing and thus kept going out.

Assuming I packed that pipe averagely good, how long would it take to smoke it in its entirety, and how many times roughly would it go out? My pipe seems fine until the bottom 15% or so and I think it’s gone out but turns out there’s still good tobacco in it. Any pointers?

It depends on the size of your bowl for the duration, but perhaps around 20-30 minutes? As far as going out, the more you get comfortable with smoking the less it will go out. Also, if you are dealing with wet tobacco, then it definitely will be harder to keep lit.

@@ogtcigars-oakglentobacconi8932 I have a hard time keeping it lit unless I keep sucking the whole time.. Could some tobaccos use a tiny bit of drying by leaving the tin open?

I notice that I have to toke every 15 seconds or so otherwise it goes out. This also makes it such that I smoke very hot and it burns my tongue. What am I doing wrong?
@ogtcigars-oakglentobacconi8932

Hey man, thanks for reaching out! Honestly, it's a learning curve. However, you can stoke the pipe by placing two fingers over the top and puffing if you feel like it is going out. And don't take long, deep puffs. I would say shallow sips to keep it lit but prevent it from getting too hot.

Nope nope nope. Hate to disagree with you, but that’s all wrong. Ya first make a plug, then pack layers between. Each layer , loose pack, burn top twice and pack with tool of choice, I machined mine 20 years ago, and repeat. You’ll have and easy hr burn and I can sit my pipe down for 5 minutes and pick up and stoke the ember again.
