You can use tape to close the gap and then use purs! Ive been using it for ten years I use a mosel paint brush and brush over the tape to seal it. Purs is liquid poly. works fantastic for tears and holes . It is not for long term use. use it for emergency repairs when you are in between poly systems. hair wearer 35 years here. Keep up the content very informative!!

Hey, I have a question in regards to attaching tape to lace. It just doesn’t seem to stick to the lace at all. I’ve thoroughly cleaned the system, shampooed, wiped base with isopropyl alcohol but Walker ultra hold tape just doesn’t stick well to it. When I pull the backing paper off , it just pulls the tape off too. Any advice please?
@HairExperience

Hmm. If the base is clean. Could it be old tape? That doesnt make much sense at all. Have you contacted the company that makes the tape.?
@muneebhijazi

@@HairExperience it’s Walker ultra hold tape I use so I don’t think it’s the tape. Maybe the base isn’t clean. But what else can I do after cotton balls to remove residue, shampooing and wiping it down with isopropyl alcohol
@HairExperience

@@muneebhijazi maybe call walker. Worth a shot. I'd say it's contamination. Something is on the unit or getting on the tape
@amanda2382

@@muneebhijazi I had a similar experience when I used old tape, I bought walker ultra hold on amazon but it was old stock. Would just peel right off the lace no matter how much I pressed. I bought it new from a verified supplier and it was SO much better, also left barely any residue on the lace itself! Maybe you got a bad batch or it was old like mine.

Okay when you wear these units does the adhesive ever tear off skin or make you break out on your scalp?

Me personally no. Ive never had that issue. I have heard on occasions that it could irritate your scalp etc. That seems to be 1-1000 but does happen for sure !

Curtis good video... Nothing will strike fear into a new wearer than tearing the unit.🤯 So glad you are looking into purs I've been using it for 5 years And I can just about fix anything with it! One note of caution when using purs you absolutely have to let it dry 5-7 hours. Just a note of caution the product does not travel well heat or air travel and the lid will come loose.

How do you recommend keeping French lace from having pull through hairs? Do you think its possible to come them back over? Cutting them causes more issues

Hi Liam, you can comb them back through as best you can. but other that that there really is no other way
@liamneslind4182

@@HairExperience yeah I think that was my issue.. I didn't comb the unit enough. Too late now though it's far too many I babied it because I was afraid it would shed. Turns out french lace is fit for warfare lol. The knots hold really well and even if you do get some shedding it's hard to notice on a thicker piece medium/medium-heavy I can see why you prefer the thin skin though. It definitely suits the way your hair is better especially cause you have the side hair going fairly up
