I was there! Survivor and first responder. Tower 1 fell on top of my office. No need to have “Never Forget” printed cuz I never will. I remember finally making it to my mother full of dust, ash, soot and she dropped to her knees hysterically crying cuz there was no way to let her know I was alive until then. I must’ve hugged my son and mother for an hour str8. I don’t have PTSD or anything but I haven’t been to the site ever since recovering the last remains we were able. Absolutely beautiful song!!! All Americans should listen to Where Were U and Red, White & Blue every year.

As an American who loves my country, 9/11 hit hard. I’ve heard this song so many times, and it never fails to touch me deep inside. At the beginning he talked about the black smoke against the blue sky, I had chills for quite some time and I started crying. I’m still crying as I type this. Such a beautiful song with such a beautiful, deep message. I remember my daughter had an interview that day at Houston’s Bush Intercontinental airport (I think it was just called Intercontinental at that time, but I’m not sure) . Of course, after the plane crash in Pennsylvania and the Pentagon we had no idea what else or who else might be hit. Houston has some of the largest oil refineries in the world so I was very scared they might be a target. I was terrified for my daughter to be near the airport that day. It was probably irrational, but that was my gut response. Of course, we couldn’t tear ourselves away from the TV for days. I’ll never forget seeing that 2nd plane. At that time there was no longer any doubt what was happening!

What really struck me was not the shock of building collapse. It was the next day when they took video of the wreckage. Quite peaceful actually. Quiet...except for one thing, a chirping sound or rather hundreds of them, coming from the wreckage. The locator beacons for the fireman down in the wreckage. That is the first time I ever felt genuine hate. The mixture of hate and sadness was crushing. I couldn't have cared less what happened to Afghanistan and the people who tried to hide the planners. I hope that the world paid attention to what happened next. We didn't leave that hole for a loooong time.

I was in preschool at the time. My grandmother called my mother telling her not to send me to school. My mom asked why, and my grandmother said "we're under attack." Even my dad came home from work. I only know because my mother told me the story. I had turned 4 only four days earlier before the attack (Sept 7) the day the attacks happened. I didn't really understand what happened until I was 11, because all i was really told was 'bad guys stole and crashed planes.' My 5th grade teacher showed us photos and videos of what happened that day and that was when i understood. I cried on my way home. I remember asking my mom sobbing "how could someone do that?" Every year I do my best to honor those who had lost their lives and those who saved lives.

He captured how so many people were feeling at the time. We hadn’t been to church in quite some time and we did go to church and held hands with strangers and prayed. It was terrifying not knowing what might happen next. I watched as the second plane hit and realized it was a terrorist attack. My kids school was just a few blocks away and I didn’t know what to do so I drove to the school and ended up in the hallway with some of the teachers and we cried and hugged each other and tried to pull ourselves together to be with the kids.

I remember where I was & watching the tv as the 2nd plane hit. I was at the unemployment office with a friend of mine. It felt like a scene from a movie. Everyone stopped talking, stopped working, & were all speechless at what was happening & then you could hear all the sobbing. It is something I will never forget. I also had a friend at the Pentagon but his CO had got caught up talking with someone & they were late getting there. So they were still in the parking lot. He survived by the Grace of God. My heart hurt for all the lives lost, and for America. Love from NC (USA) Another song that was made in reference to 9/11 is by Mike Corrado - My Watch Tonight I highly recommend listening to it.

I was working in a small hospital that day and heard something on the radio about a possible explosion at the twin towers. The radio DJ’s mom was in NYC on vacation and called him to tell him. I ran to the small pre surgical room in our hospital where one of the tv’s was and watched the second plane hit. Sick to my stomach I went back to my department to tell me coworkers. And we turned on the radio and listened all day. Hardly anyone came in for x-rays that day. When the pentagon got hit, I said to my boss (we both served in the National guard) that we were at war and to be prepared to leave. 30 minutes later we received the call from our unit to pack up and be ready because we are on call. I was 21 at the time. I have now lived half of my life in a post 9-11 world.

And then we all could see the moment the message wrapped its fingers around your heart and emotion took over. Im not a country music fan but my wife is and we were listening to it in the car. At first i wasnt really paying attention then i started to. i was looking out the passenger window trying to hide my tears and when the song finished I looked at her and said Wow thats powerful. My mom was a teacher about 1.5 hours from the city, there were tv’s in the classrooms that thankfully were not on, there were students in that school who lost their parents that day. I still have the newspaper’s, the Special Edition Time magazine, I still see images of people jumping from those buildings, I still cry from the useless loss of life. I was in the 4th grade, age 9. I was on the school bus on my way to school. I remember the exact spot on the dirt road where I was when I heard the radio hosts of 106.9FM come onto the radio station and break the news about the first plane hitting. He basically said, "There was a plane that hit one of the World Trade Center towers. It wasn't like a bush plane, it was more like a full sized 747." He talked about it as if it seemed like an accident.. I didn't know what the World Trade Center was, but I some reason I was imagining the visuals of a small bush plane crashing into the side of a tall building. I didn't think much more of it, and continued to stare out the bus window, into the forest that we drove through. When we got to school, our substitute teacher kept coming to our classroom to tell our main teacher what was going on as it occurred. I remember her telling her about a second plane hitting the other tower. I think I also heard her mention people jumping out of the buildings. Then she returned again, with tears in her eyes, to tell our teacher about the building collapsing. I didn't truly know what was going on until I got home and watched the news that night. I remember seeing the live nighttime aerial shots of the smoldering rubble, and rescue teams searching through the rubble. The visual of the plane going into the towers warped my mind. Was hard to wrap my head around it. Kinda crazy how I remember that day so vividly, despite being so young, and not fully understanding the situation or having watched it live on TV.. I see a lot of people say that their teachers let them watch it unfold on TV though.

I was a sophomore in high school when 9/11 happened. I remember waking up, thinking it was just a normal day, and walking to school, and the first class of the day for me, at that time, was history class. When I walked in there, the TV was turned on, and they were showing the Twin Towers on fire. It all seemed so surreal, like, I couldn't believe this was happening. What sticks out more in my mind, though, is that it was my grandmother's 80th birthday, and we went over to her house later in the day, and we just stood around watching the news, talking about the event. I was on my way to work when the first jet hit. The second hit and I knew it was no accident. I called my babysitter, who was a NY native, and told her not to take my kid to school. Her school was by a major military intelligence center. I was a border patrol agent. September 12, 2001 I tried to re enlist in the Army and I was told I was already in a critical position. I tried to donate blood, but because I might have mad cow disease from Europe, I was denied. I lived across the country, I had a family I couldn’t leave, a job that said what I was doing was important and I couldn’t even donate a pint of blood. Helplessness. Utter helplessness to protect the people I had taken an oath to protect 10 yrs earlier. That’s what I remember and feel from that unforgettable day.

I remember perfectly; I was a high school 10th grader. I heard some of my teachers stating that a major terrorist attack had occurred in the US. It was only once I arrived back at my home and my mom turned on the television to watch the newscasts that I could fully comprehend what had occurred; commercial jets purposely flown into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Even then, I was too young to truly understand the scale of casualties. R.I.P. to the innocent victims.

Sarah- This is a great old song from Alan Jackson. Have you already reacted to Alan Jacksons Remember When? I was in high school when 9/11 happened and will never forget how horrible of a feeling that I had.

I could feel your heart breaking as the song progressed...... It's so sad how united we were back then, and how divided we are now over stupid politics. 😔 The first time I heard this song I was driving down I-35. I had to pull off to the side of the road and just allow myself to break down. When I started driving again, I saw a few other cars pulled off and the people inside were sobbing.... I think they heard the song too.

Alan Jackson came out in 1991 when country was dying on the vine . About 9 very good solo artist and about 5 awesome groups came to light .. All were good . A big class of entertainment. Brought country back from the brink .. Alan Jackson is the only one left . Of the 1991 group. Some ran out of stuff to record . Some died .some retired . But he has made his run . And soon he will retired . But It is ok he has had tons of hits. . ❤. We are in need of another big group of good artists again .. or we can switch back to 70 rock .

I was in the 5th grade. My dad came and got my 6th grade brother and me out of school. When we got home the TV was on and the towers had already fell.

There's a dude on the Office Blokes reaction channel who was in one of the towers, the day before it happened. I remember him telling the story. Probably on their reaction to this song.

Painting a sunroom for a small construction crew. It slowly came to us what was going on over the radio. My friend became a Marine and I went Army. This was a motivator!

I was a senior in high school sitting in the bandroom watching Steve Irwin before band started (we did that all the time). The band director came out of his office and went to the TV. We all thought it was because it was time to start band, and I remember looking at my watch and thinking that we still had like 30 minutes before we were supposed to start. He turned back around and when we saw the picture on the screen, we thought someone had accidentally flown a plane into the first tower. We sat watching the Today Show coverage and talking about everything, and I’ll never forget seeing what looked like a plane approach from the backside of the building, seeing the edge of the explosion, and hearing the woman Katie and Matt were talking to on the phone say “OH MY GOD, ANOTHER ONE JUST HIT!” That was when we realized it was no accident and that we’d just watched who knows how many people die. About an hour and a half later (after band), we found out about the Pentagon, and that’s what when we really understood someone had declared war on us. That was a horrible day in our history, and I feel like that was when many of us lost our innocence about the type of world we live in. We’d all heard about the attack at Pearl Harbor, but actually seeing something to that magnitude was a completely new thing. In our minds, attacks on innocent people just didn’t happen here, and seeing it happen live on TV in places we’d been to and seen on TV a million times made it hit hard.

It's because Alan Jackson is just a really good guy. I mean he might be famous but he's very down to earth. He's a very sweethearted person. He's just a good person. He's got a good family and he's legit like this every time you see him

To borrow a few words, from one of my favorite Xmas movies - " God bless us - EVERYONE!". A true classic of all times! Thank you Alan! I'll NEVER forget where I was or what I was doing! I was in full uniform, with tears streaming down my face! I watched it all happen on TV! What happened to US! Sigh...
