I was there in the second deck. It went over our heads and land landed in between the 2nd and 3rd deck. A massive shot!. There was over 47k people there and it seemed like a third were dodgers fans. Truly a great game to witness live!

Just got back from my first trip to Japan and this dudes a god over there. Never watched baseball in my life but experienced a game at the Tokyo dome. Great sport, if you ever get a chance, get to Japan and experience it there. Love from an Aussie 🇦🇺

People are just witnessing greatness, back in the day when Mark McGire and Sammy Sosa were competiting for most homerunes in the season, he came to Montreal to play against the Expos, I'm cheering for my home team but when Mark hit the 2nd ball and the way it travelled and everybody immediately knew it was a goner, we all stood up in awe and applauded.

What's crazy is Judge is 3" taller and 70 lbs bigger than Ohtani but if you look at the longest home runs this season Ohtani hit 2 of the top 3. Judge is tied for the 3rd longest. Amazing how much power Ohtani has and his fine swing mechanics.

@@yuumetal2363 using a baseball simulator if we believe the exit velocity of 119 mph, 443 feet is way too short for a 29 degree launch angle. If the distance is correct the launch angle would need to be 36 or 37 degrees, which seems more plausible based on the ball going high out of the frame.

that's not 440 feet. that's easily 480-500 feet projected final distance. That ball got to back of second deck in 2 seconds and was still climbing

Beautiful SOUND!! IT is his bat swing to shoot a ball so high, so fast, and so far. The speed is different, snd the sound is different, all indicating his otherworldly ability to adjust his swing to perfection!!!

The 443 feet has to be an error. That ball landed so in the upper 2nd deck and was coming in hot. Stat cast had to have made an error. That ball went probably 470-490 feet easy.

It could be the distance to the stand it landed in; that is if it wasn’t obstructed it would have travelled another 30+ feet especially since it was a 29 degree exit angle and no moon ball.

@@Squashed8Ball I think stat cast estimates the distance to where it would have landed if it hit at ground level. It’s pretty obvious they messed up the distance. With the exit velocity and launch angle it was at least 470+

That looks over 443 maybe 483? - Shohei is the only MLB player I've seen always hitting H.R. balls into walkways / hallways some usual landings. the guy buying concession stands probably got the ball surprisingly. last week some guy outside dodgers Stadium got the ball - he was absolutely surprise.

Love watching the Ohtani & Judge highlights. How many times have they hit a homerun in the same night this season? it's just amazing watching these two players. As a remarkable season Ohtani is having, Judge is having possibly the best year in baseball history statistically.

Judge is great, but unless he hits at least 80 home runs in a season or pitches with an ERA of 3 or less, his value as a player will not be as great as Ohtani's.

Alvarez hit the scoreboard in batting practice a couple years ago and they only estimated it at 430ish. Same with his 3rd deck shot down the right line. It looks like awesome but from the end of the bullpen to the pole rarely sees over 440ft on statcast.

@@daveavemian5940 I watched a highlight video of Ohtani's homer it reached it apex just as it crossed the stairs. So no more climb to his homer. If you were to draw a straight line on the ground from the plate to where it landed, it's not even 400ft. It crossed the outfield wall that sits about 350ft from the plate give or take. Then where it hit is between 60 and 70ft in the air I'm guessing. 440ft does seem a little short, but 470-480 doesn't seem right either.
