I moved to OH from WA in 2019. I've been watching videos from my Geology guru, Nick Zentner, about Washington state and the Pacific Northwest, then decided to see what I could learn about Ohio's geology. I was so glad to find this video! I know OH is much older than WA (which is mainly made up of exotic terranes), so figured there'd be some fascinating things to learn about it. I'm originally from New Hampshire, so I know the east has some much older geology than Washington does. Thanks so much for this video! I knew OH was a beautiful state, so it's wonderful learning more about its long history and formation. I've got the OH Roadside Geology book, of course, which is also quite informative.

I lived in Oregon and now in Ohio; I too was delighted to learn about the state's geology. I believe I watched every video that Nick Zentner put out and have been enlightened by what I saw in Oregon and Washington State. I thought I'd be in Ohio for a few years, retire to a warmer state but Ohio has captivated my heart; hope it does the same for you.

Once you see the erosion in the underfit river valleys you can appreciate the power and scale of giant floods from the ice sheet 22-14k years ago.

I learned a lot from this video. Very well made. I am an Ohio native, but I didn’t know a lot of this info.

Really admire such geological research and recording by many locals not mention the national.

At the break of dawn; Sitting in a Canoe with 2 poles in the water and a 12 Guage across my lap hunting squirrels one cool September morning, was insane on a state park lake (Rush Run) that allowed both, but from a boat ??? You tell me... lol

It is a good video if you embrace the millions of years theory...which I don't. My Earth is proof of a Creator. Many Ohioans believe beauty in nature is evidence of a Creator. Also, many American tribes believed the same.

I believe what happened at Mt. Saint Helens is proof that magnificent features are not proof of millions of years: Creation and Worldwide flood = proof of a Creator. I live on Paint Creek State park where floods have changed the landscape drastically over 30 years.

Redhed.... think about it.... There isn't enough water on earth to have a world wide flood. Go tell oil companies they don't know what they are doing when the look for and find oil in hundreds of million year old layers that were once swamps. Science is fact based, religion is faith based.

The earth is the LORD'S , and the fullness thereof ; the world , and they that dwell therein . For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods . PSALMS c/ 24 v/1-2 PSALMS c/104 v/6 -9 Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains . At thy rebuke they fled ; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away . They go up by the mountains ; they go down by the valleys unto the place which thou hast founded for them . Thou hast set a bound that they may not pass over ; that they turn not again to cover the earth . Isn't it wonderful that we can date the earth to be five days older than Adam .
