Today Ohuhu released a brand new line of markers called Kaala. They have a different body and chisel nib than their other alcohol markers. Learn more about them in today's review.

Features/Pros
Longer chisel nib for broad strokes to detail plus a bullet nib.
Alcohol ink (13 new ohuhu colors)
Clear blender included in each kit in addition to the stated markers (the 24 set has 25 markers in it for instance)
Tapered, non-roll oval barrel so you can tell what end is broad and fine
Color numbers and names match the Oahu line
Eventually refillable and you can replace nibs (with other brands)
Nice storage boxes
Includes swatch card you can color in
Includes clear sheet for protecting sketchbook
Cons:
The swatch card doesn't fit well in the box
I feel the box could have been better designed to prop up at an angle.
There are 150 colors across 4 sets but you will have 18 duplicate colors and 4 clear blenders if you go this route.
No open stock
Bottom line: These markers are fine but I think I would recommend the Ohuhu Oahu series over these because you can get a set of 160 Oahu for around $80 and it would be around $120 to buy all 4 sets of the Kaala marker sets to get the 150 unique colors. To me, the barrel shape and longer chisel nib are not worth the extra price. Or you could get the 168 Honnalulu set for $134 which I think would be a much easier marker to learn on and you can choose a brush and a chisel or bullet nib. It's just more versatile in my opinion. I reviewed a twin of the Kaala markers here if you want more info on this marker type: • NEW! Artify Enhanced M...
