Excellent video. Especially like the tip of jacking up one side for more complete pan drainage. Also like you attention to detail wiping out the filter cannister and using that cardboard splatter flap. Also agree with your more frequent changes at 1/2 dealer rec. Thanks for helpful , easy to follow video.

Thank you for the video, you might want to consider pouring 1/2 a liter into the engine while the drain plug is off. This flushes some of the old oil out of the bottom of the pan. Nice job jacking the car up to get more out.

Thanks! The dealer charges $200 for this service. Especially with the filter on the top of the engine there is absolutely no reason not to do this ourselves!

What dealer does this service for $200? Oil, filter and Fuel filter was over $300 in parts. I would question what they are actually doing at that price.

It will cost u more then $100 in parts alone. Of dealer charges $200 its cheap😊

Thanks! Very helpful. Maybe a silly question, but how do you keep your engine area so clean? Do you wipe it down? Mine isn’t filthy, but after 40k miles it is definitely not as clean as yours.

I have a 2007 R320CDI with an OM642 at 164 K miles. I use an oil suction tank and I change oil and filter at 5000 miles instead of going to 10K miles. Hengst oil filters come with all the necessary pieces. I use either Liqui Moly or Mobil 1 10-40 Diesel oil. I dont have to go under the car .

I service these sprinters. If fully warmed engine and drained it will take 13.5 quarts to be at exact max for 3.0 V6 diesel. Filters for mercedes used to be MANN now its different brand. Mobil ESP oil also good to use available at autozone for cheaper.

Why sponsor the dealer when you can also buy cheaper a MANN HU821x filter that Mercedes Benz also uses? This applies to oil, fuel and air filter, initial assembly at Mercedes Benz factory is always MANN

You can save yourself some more money by using Mobil 1 synthetic oil for diesels and WIX oil filters. NAPA oil filters are WIX filters. Costco has Mobil 1 diesel oil. NAPA fuel filters are also top quality. Dealers are way over priced.

Be careful Mobil One has 36 different Oils under the Mobil One name, only one of them (ESP) meets the MB Spec of 5W30, 229.52! Has far has the filter is concerned you would be foolish to buy a non OEM Parts, the Parts Warranty alone makes it worth it. Also, when your Service History can show that you used only OEM Parts there is no question that you followed the MB recommendations! I even used MB Oil because it was price competitive with everyone else.
