Over Memorial Day weekend 2022, the Oil Creek & Titusville railroad held its first photo freight charter with two of its vintage diesels. And wanted a bit of a change from our usual steam videos, we took the opportunity and bought a ticket to the charter! Along with attending the charter, we chased the railroads regular excursion from Rynd Farm back to Titusville. Staring in the charter was S2 85 and the recently repainted M420 3568. Both engines put on a great show for the charter attendees, putting off plenty of smoke for everyone. Oil Creek & Titusville is one of the prettiest and most friendly railroads we've ever been to. And even though there's no steam its still worth a visit!
The Oil Creek and Titusville was formed in 1982 to purchase 13.5 miles of Ex Conrail trackage for tourist use. On July 18, 1982, the Oil Creek and Titusville ran its first revenue tourist train! The railroad uses vintage ALCO & MLW diesels for motive power. Along with the tourist business, the Oil Creek & Titusville also is a conmen freight holler having most of its freight customers in Titusville. The reason the area OC&T runs through is nicknamed "The Valley that changed the World is because Americas first ground oil was discovered there by Edwin Drake in 1859. Today the OC&T runs regular excursion trips and freight runs and will be for yeas to come!
