I remember seeing the filter in a 42 Weapons Carrier a buddy bought, it had a roll of toilet paper in cannister. People have always been cheap and it was readily available. The truck had good oil pressure too but not sure how well the oil was filtered. Those cartridge filters used to be cheap back when they were more common.

It's funny you mention that!...I was just telling a buddy of mine about toilet paper being used. Not sure how it worked either, but seems like it would create more issues down the road, at least modern tp seems like it would just disintegrate!

Hi if you have gas in your oil it's probably coming from your fuel pump. the pump is really 2 pumps. you have the fuel pump and then you have the vacuum pump for the wipers. if the gasket goes bad between the pumps gas leaks into the engine where the pump mounts to the motor. if you have an electric fuel pump going through the stock lines it will still leak.just bypass the pump and the leak will stop.atleast the gas cleaned out your oil pan lol. is motor using 12 volt system I see a external coil.what distributor are you using.when you have time you should change your complete brake and fuel lines especially your rubber ones.these trucks maybe slow but they they are a bear to stop with no brakes. check out g741 for more m37 info.keep up the great videos.

Thanks for the information! I am using an electric fuel pump but it may still be going through the original as well, I will definitely check that out. The 12v conversion was already done when I bought the truck so I'm not sure what distributor is in there. I did do all the wheel cylinders, master cylinder and all rubber lines, the steel lines still looked so good I left them alone except for one that needed replaced due to the fitting not spinning. I will check out g741! Thanks again!
