This is my favorite album ever but I haven’t listened to it in over 7 years because Radiohead was me and my Dads favorite band growing up and our relationship soured when I was a teenager to the point where we no longer keep contact even now that I’m 28. So anytime I hear Radiohead I feel all those memories of abandonment and depression come rushing back so since then I have not listened to their music. I got this in my recommended today and even though I wasn’t going to click I knew i would appreciate this being that acapella is a big favorite of mine. I am so glad I did because hearing this album reinterpreted has allowed me to not only rekindle but to reform my appreciation for Radiohead. Hearing this has broken the curse placed on me by my own flashbacks. I can now enjoy this album again without being reminded of the negative memories I associate this with.

While I have no idea what happened between you and your dad, I hope my message to you may be of value. My relationship with my dad soured too, and it was due to his bad behavior and parenting, how he treated my mother. I took a necessary break for about 15 years. I felt ready to attempt to reconnect. There were limitations to how far we could get, but it was better than before. He passed away unexpectedly shortly after. While I have compassion for my younger self, and understand that my younger self wasn’t ready, I wish I had confronted him earlier, with the wisdom I have now. I wish you all the best ⭐️

I can tell you for a fact that he did not use a midi keyboard at any point in this except for a few words in Fitter/Happier, but that was obviously for effect and not because he couldn't hit the note. But that doesn't mean he didn't edit the pitch itself in whatever editing programme he used. Totally different process to tuning your voice using a midi keyboard. The blend between note shifts with a midi keyboard is very synthetic and it would be blindingly obvious. Whereas if he just nudged the note up in the editing software, you wouldn't know.

With just a glance of the title and very real runtime, I was literally rolling on the floor laughing in disbelief of the feat of totally recreating such a beautiful piece of art. Within the first minute of Airbag I realized this wasn’t just some sort of half assed attempt at a meme. There are parts of this that have legitimately left me in deep thought and appreciation for musicians and their abilities to recreate something, how much drive we have to do things like this. These moments made me so seriously grateful to be alive and share this experience of life and intelligent consciousness with bafflingly creative brains that I can say without shame that I have been brought to tears more times than there are songs on this record (and laugh so many times at the lazy Yorke vocal sound oh my god). This has very seriously traumatized me in the best way possible and I want to thank you from the deepest part of my soul for bringing so much personality and life into and out of an already gorgeous work of art like you have here. This is a deep inspiration and a reminder to listeners of all the things they enjoy about this record and the highest complement to the original artist.
