Five of Oklahoma's losses last year were by a touchdown or less. Despite all of the roster turnover, coaching turnover, and other chaos around the program, the team was still very close to having a very good season. Now we are looking at a team that has a full year of playing for BV and getting conditioning under Smitty plus more recruits that fit his system and personality. I think the Sooners are going to surprise a lot of people this year. Venables has always been an excellent coach. For me, I think the best part of having BV as a coach is that he will make sure that the kids that come through the program learn valuable life skills that will serve them wherever they go.

The last time the college football world truly poked the bear OU went 13-0! In 1999 OU went 7-4 after going 5-5-1, 3-9, 4-8. Year two of Bob Stoops second year lefty QB we killed it. Now do I think OU will go undefeated? Not likely but we have the chance to scare the rest of the country.

It seems like a large majority of the "experts" in CFB forget how close OU was to being a 6-6 or a 7-5 team in Rileys last year. Sound crazy? Alright, they needed back 2 back miracles vs. Neb and WVU both games at home, they beat Neb by 7 and WVU by 3. Down 28 vs Texas but Caleb Williams provided another miracle. Williams, yet again pulled out another miracle when he stripped the ball from his own RB on a 4th down EDIT: At Kansas, to let OU pull away finally. If they just had C. Williams last yr they probably would've won at least 2 more games, at least. It's not easy installing a completely different culture, OC scheme, DC scheme, and HC but I think they will look like a top 15 team at the end of this year with a solid, not great, defense.

You've ever heard of the truth, it's coming back. Oklahoma only had ONE holding call go their way all season and a bowl game. Now, experts as you are, you know games are won in the trenches. The big 12 handed their opponents a winning lottery ticket. This could only happen if you're games are being rigged. You experts should be calling for a investigation. Kinda hard to get off your blocks when you're opponent is allowed to use rear naked chokes, I won't even get into the blocks in the back I saw that wasn't called. So, until the big 12 decides not to rig football games, your opinions on Oklahoma is null and void isn't it? BOOMER SOONER

Dasaan McClough will be on defense what Kyler Murray was on offense. He terrorized Michigan and Ohio State backfields as a Freshman. And now a year of being with Schmitty as his strength trainer. Watch out. Not to mention Bowen Knack Stutsman. and many more pieces. Then We didn’t have a QB for like 2 1/2 games and was ranked 1st in the big 12 and 12th in the nation on offense. Only 670 yards behind the #1 offense in the nation. So with a better QB as the back up then the starter, I would say I believe with the second easiest schedule in the Big 12 this season will be a one or two loss season going into the Big 12 Championship game. I am picking Texas to beat Oklahoma in the Red River game. However when has Texas ever made it to the Big 12 Championship game. Not often, they usually disappoint. So I can’t believe the hype about the Longhorns until they prove it. Lebby had the #1 offense with Ole Miss in the SEC conference in his second season. And Oklahoma recruits better talent then Ole Miss by the numbers consistently for years. So this offense will be good.

Didn't catch you sent it but he's wrong. He said there was no pressure on Oklahoma; so not true there's always pressure on the premier college football teams to win. Coach venables talks about there is a standard in Oklahoma football when he knows that and does his best to have the team follow the standard playing for national championships.
@doylekennedyusaf7808

Actually I believe Oklahoma will be better then they ever could with Lincoln. Lincoln’s 2017 team was his best. It was Stoops team that he inherited. After the 2017 team they kept getting worse on Defense, however it wasn’t until after 2018 team on offense that the Sooners started falling on offense as well. Which the 2018 was still Stoops team he put together. The big nasty players that Venebals is signing are the players Lincoln could never land at Oklahoma. It didn’t matter who was defensive coordinator they was going to stink with Lincoln recruiting for Oklahoma. So yes Oklahoma will not just be a one man show, they will be a whole team in time to come. They lost so many players, however they already was weak, Lincoln’s last Oklahoma team was so close to losing 5 to 6 games. The difference was one player. Caleb or Dillon. However one thing was obvious, Lincoln could be the HC at Oklahoma for a hundred years and you knew that Oklahoma was completely blocked from ever winning a National Title. His best opportunity was Stoops 2017 team he inherited. The entire season before he left I kept telling my Dad Lincoln will never get the players that we need in the trenches, he only makes one man shows. He needs to go.
