I think the station was re-opened in May 1973 - my father and I were on the first special train, and still have the tickets, and film of Sir Richard Marsh opening it. So, I think the photo of the derelict station must have been taken earlier than 1972, because i remember the new station being constructed that year. The photos of Alfreton Hall were probably taken by my grandfather, Arthur Beet, who was chauffeur to Charles Moorewood. They lived in the flat above the stables

The C7 used to run from Alfreton to Mansfield VIA Blackwell, Newton (Littlemore Lane), Huthwaite and Sutton

that was fab so many memories. id love to see institute lane when the miami cafe was there. wud also love to know what year the cafe closed down??

thought the d8 did alf to mansfield via blackwell and littlemoor lane etc
