@@GEN_X_ Real Detroiter umm more like suburban bandwagon jumper who falsely claims to be from Detroit. LOL Wayne State University educated yet cannot fully comprehend a comment. Mike Duggan and the “white” detroit elite are displacing those of colour in detroit. If you want to debate just how corrupt, by all means. What most people do not realize is just how beautiful detroit was. Before white suburban money tore it down for special interests without disregard to heritage. Tiger Stadium, Hudson Department Store, Detroit museum of art, millionaires row. What they are reviving is a tiny fraction of what once was, and at a fraction of the quality of construction that once was. But nice try, i will gladly debate you on the subject. I honestly don't care what other people say, if people like it for themselves, then I don't know what to say other than simply say, "cool". It'd be surprising for anyone to like Detroit and trust me, I've heard about it and done LOTS of research and let me tell you, it's not like anything what you said. Sure, it's like, the motor capital, AKA, "the car capital of the world", yes, but you know, that really didn't help that much, because the way Detroit turned out is again, unlike anything what you said. Trust me, Detroit nowadays during modern times, it's REALLY bad. Back then though if you want to call it "thriving", then back then, maybe, sure but now, nuh uh. I'd like to see them come up with something to actually manage to help their own city out and make it even 2x, 10x better but for a while now, it hasn't been looking that great. And regarding anything, if "some" parts seem nice, for me, I wouldn't want to be fooled.

The house on the corner with the tudor window was completely renovated approx 6 years ago and now there are very few remaining vacant lots there (if any). Homes today there go for well over $1 million. This video is inaccurate, someone took old pictures (60s) and then pictures from probably around 2000 and are claiming they are 2022. What happened to Detroit? Big Business went overseas (for cheap labor), the Unions became non-existent, The RICH folks fled the city leading to other businesses pulling out. And, the poor was left the remains of Detroit. Being poor means no money for food let alone money for upkeep on homes, government housing/apartments replaced once grand homes. Poverty is an ugly circle which is hard to escape. Most large cities are ghost-towns like Detroit. Few such as Chicago and New York have thrived.

LOL Fake News. Downtown Detroit is beautiful and thriving. I've lived there, went to school there at Wayne State University and worked for General Motors World HQ among 10 other World Headquarters in Downtown Detroit. Keep your Fear Porn. Us Real Detroiters know what's up. They are even rebuilding the old Hudson's building downtown, along with the Shinola Hotel, Ford is rebuilding the iconic and beautiful Train Station from 100 years ago that rivals any in the world and they are moving their Headquarters there along with Compuware, Rocket Mortgage and too many to mention. Not to mention Detroit has invented half the things you all use today and still inventing things like roads in Detroit right now in Corktown charge Electric cars just by driving on them. It all starts in Detroit!

There was no slavery in Detroit, nor in the Northern States. This is what happened when people from the South came to Detroit.

Prosperity only existed for the rich plantation owners. The poor white confederate folk fought and died for them in the Civil War. Now they worship a New York Yankee carpetbagger and wanna-be autocratic ruler.
