I am not a believer sir, although I was brought up in a Presbyterian household. I have been watching your horse videos for months, and I started watching this today thinking it was a horse video. Had I known it was your Bible series I probably wouldn’t have watched it. But it really spoke to me. I have been struggling with a relationship problem for some months and it has reached a crisis. The message here has changed my thinking and made me see that being arrogant and full of pride is not helping my situation and that I still have time, I’m 65 to be humble and forgiving, in spite of being tested to the extreme extent of my patience, or in horse parlance, to the end of my tether.

I too have lost a son. He was 39, a decorated veteran. He took his life on Feb 4th of this year. I found God at the age of 20 and loved the Lord with all of my being. He took me out of sin and placed me on a street of gold. I lived a life free from sin for 4 years. I thought everyone would want the joy I had in Christ. A long story short, I decided to turn back to sin not long after the birth of this son. His mother and I separated when he was about a year old. Both of us leaving a life with God behind . The boy came and went from my life throughout the years. I had no concerns for my life or any around me for years. I taught my son how to live, mostly by example, never teaching him or my other children the truths I knew of the true and living God. There is no sinner like one that has had and seen the blessings of God and thrown them away like trash in a street. Was I a miserable human being? Yes, oh yes. I became wrought with my son about 10 years ago and we didn’t speak until earlier this year. He would work for contractors that worked for my company but would make sure that I would not see him. Did I mention he started using hard drugs about 10 years ago. Did I mention I did hard drugs in my youth, for years after I left Christ. I could not bring myself to repent of my sinful life until a little over a year ago. I told God how sorry I was for the way I had lived and would rather die than to commit one more thing against him, I believe in Christ. I got up from my knees and felt no different. I’m saved by faith. You can’t keep sinning and go to heaven , no matter what you want to believe. My son had gone to jail for kidnapping late last year. A girl he had been living with was leaving him and he wouldn’t let her go. My present wife of 17 years and I decided to get him a good lawyer, but not to bail him out as we wanted him to get clean. He eventually bailed himself out. Out of the blue he called me. I hadn’t talked to him in 10 long years. Did I mention he lived 3 1/2 miles from me. I was so thankful to hear his voice. I kept telling him over and over, Olney, I love you, I have always loved you!!! When can I see you? He said I love you too Dad. I told him how sorry I was and that I had never told him of Jesus Christ and His saving power, but things were different with me. I was living for God and was kinder and gentler by the grace of God. My wife and I had been praying for Olney everyday without fail. I had such great hope that all would be well until the night I received a call and had to drive the 3 1/2 miles to look at a puddle of blood where my son had lain . I never did get to hold him and tell him how much I loved him. It came to my mind to question God . Why, why, we were praying for him everyday. God gave me the answer, His grace is sufficient, be thankful in all things. Does my heart ache and tears flow? Yes,yes, yes! We might not want to think about cause and action, but rest assured, we reap what we sow. Please believe me when I say, I’d rather have Jesus than anything! May the living God give you the grace to go through any battle that may arise in your life.

I recently had a conversation with a younger co-worker about the process of growth/reinvention/adaptation in life. About how you're never done. How there's always room for improvements, whether it be education/profession/social/health/family/spiritual, etc. I am 15 years his senior and I constantly boggle his mind because I'm always sharpening the axe, so to speak. 1. Thank you for sharing your wisdom. Your commentary is very profound. It's so easy to forget that we serve god with every step we take, he knows our faults, he knows our sins, and he still loves us and has a place for us in the big plans. If we are to be deserving of this love, we have to be able to reflect it to our brothers and sisters of this world. Love without judgment, love yourself and others without judgment and you'll learn god's love.

Amen! I'm a young man, trying to stay humble, and in fact I was ruminating on this very passage in scripture with Moses recently, and wondering at God's timing in his life as you described. I've heard it said that God is not always the God of "the last minute", swooping in at 11:59pm, but often is the God of 12:01am. God's purpose in our life will become evident, it's only a matter of time. And, I have seen time and time again this same situation with Moses play out, when you think you have nothing to offer, when you're all played, God uses you mightily.

for the past three and a half years i been in my desert. i'm back in church again. it's taken a while to give up pride and shame too. what i've been figuring out is that i want to be able to let people know that i want for them what i wanted when i started going back to church. a sense of community. because i was so lonely. i made a lot of wrong choices too. that's how i'm going to use my testimony for people outside the church that don't believe. everyone belongs to God because He made everyone. I want for people to have what i've gotten myself into when i decided to go back to church. we need God and God needs us.

That was very nice and appreciated by an older couple in Wisconsin on a small country spot. We feel the call to bring people back to God's natural healing plants and the nurturing creation He made for us to be stewards of. The hard work makes us feel older, but the fact that we are sharing God's gifts gives us light energy from the Love in all God's ways.

Jesus is my Lord and Savior. He has protected my marriage through the loss of my 3-year-old son Joshua back in 2009 and he has revealed himself to me in ways that are incredible. That being said I have let my life slip away. I have not been obedient to God and I have walked in the desert of disobedience for years. The pain of the loss of my son still haunts me and it has taken a toll on my mind in having a why bother attitude. It's almost as though I feel the Lord has finished using me. Moses had to walk in the desert but after surrendering he led the Israelites to the promised land (At 80). Thank you Dewayne for this amazing message. God's not through with me yet and he has only begun the start of a GREAT THING with you as well sir. God Bless you my brother in Christ. Still Josh's Dad.

Very encouraging words. Sometimes i compare people to trees: some are quick growing, other slow growing species, being the slow groth species the ones with greater longevity! Sometimes the quick ones overtake the slower in the early years, and think that they are the best but they die first, as the slower ones end up living more, and someitmes serving a higher purpose. Men like Noah or Moses were like oak trees.
