Good video, I paid a visit to your shop this morning to purchase some accessories for my bear super grizzly I purchased there last September your staff is amazing no pressure and very helpful. The old mountain bow came up in our conversation and I got the privilege of shooting one and after the first shot I was sold on it and purchased one in the poundage I prefer, for the money this is a fine shooting bow . Thanks to you and your staff for having a great place to shop on most Saturdays and another thing the two gentleman working today actually recommended my wife and I from last year that usually doesn’t happen, we could have talked to them all day but things got busy and that is good for you 😊

Really helpful review for a prospective buyer. I'm new to bows but the Super Grizzly keeps coming up... I am interested in dipping my toes with a $200'ish one piece recurve or longbow for my next purchase. How do they compare?

It's about time you got a review up for that bow. I would have bought one sooner. They are really good bows my nephew still loves the one I got him a few weeks ago. Thanks Three Rivers 👍👍

I have read that the limbs are Bamboo core. Can you verify this because your website does not say that it is?

Yes, the Mesa longbow has a bamboo lamination in the core. I'll get with our folks to update the web site.

For split finger, 5/8" above center is normally a good starting point. Best to use a bow square for accuracy: www.3riversarchery.com/3rivers-archery-bow-square.html

64” be ok with a 30” draw length? Or would it stack?

You would have a comfortable shooting bow with your 30" draw on the 64" Mesa.

7:01 pm I just wonder if those speeds will relate to a lower 35# Mesa with a 280 grain 8 GPP and a 350 graine at 10 GPP
@3RiversArchery
9 ай бұрын
I believe the math behind it would say they should translate. Personally, I'd expect it to be at least slightly slower, but I've not tested it to see at different draw weights with same GPP if you get same speeds. I'll give it a try when I can though.

How long was the 400 or 8#/p arrow and what poundage is this bow? Thanks
@3RiversArchery

The bow is 50# @ 28" and it was drawn to 28". The arrow I'm not positive on, but would guess 30" back of head to valley of nock.

Can I safely draw this 35# Mesa longbow to 30" using an 8 GPP which related to a 320 grain
@3RiversArchery
9 ай бұрын
Yes, the Mesa longbow (especially the 64" model) can be drawn to 30" draw length. One thing to note on arrow weight is the bow will be heavier at 30" draw as it is rated 35# @ 28" draw, so be sure to bump up arrow weight to match. Assuming two pounds per inch, it would be a 39# @ 30" bow, so 8 GPP is 312 grains.

It will vary from bow to bow, but start 6.75" to 7.5" as a starting range. Slight tuning of this measurement helps with performance. Give us a call if you run into issues though.

7 to 7.5 inches from the valley of the grip to the string tends to be the best for the Mesa longbow.

Yes, the 64" Mesa longbow will do great with a 29" draw length. You will add about 2 pounds to the pull at that draw compared to what the bow is rated at.

We are trying. Being an import bow the delivery times have been dragged out this past 1.5 years with Covid delays. Plus, a lot higher demand these past couple years has them selling out faster than expected. Which is why putting in a backorder helps. As you are reserving a spot for one coming.
