An interesting collection of photo's, they spanned 3 generations of my family! My grandparents, my parents and myself. I was born in 1952 and have lived most of my life in Canada, yet so many familiar sights I remember rather alarmingly. Bolton has changed a great deal... yet there is so much familiarity remaining in some buildings. Black and white images don't lie, but they did somehow make things look blacker and bleaker than care to remember.

Thank you. All brilliant. A nice little detail at the end: Semi-detatched houses for 385/395 quid. But I worked for 13 quid a week in 1969.

The picture of Bank St looking upwards from the bottom has a mill on the right hand side, its Crown Street Corn Mill. Run by Henry Whitehursts, i worked there around 79/80. My first job after leaving school, i worked in the offices. Loved it. Some fantastic characters worked in the mill itself, they produced animal feeds for the North West.
