Sometimes, no matter how good a director is, their style just isn't a fit for the source material they're adapting. The 2005 film adaptation of AIR by Toei Animation is very much along the lines of Dezaki Osamu's earlier work, but the clash with the original visual novel makes it seem like it's trying to get away from its ultra-moe nakige style, and Key fans weren't too happy. Jisu of SecretIdentityStudio checks out the maligned movie to see if you should watch it... and find out what the heck is with those repeat shots and camera decisions.
