Welcome back to average guy tested! In today’s video, we’re going old school with a retro classic - the Gillette Sensor Excel razor, the very razor I first learned how to shave with. Originally released in 1990, the Sensor Excel brings back some serious nostalgia, but I’m mixing things up by trying out a new shaving technique. No steaming beforehand - will it work just as well? Let’s find out!
But that’s not all! I’m pairing this shave with some fantastic products from Elysian Soap Shop’s Arelious line, which launched in August. Their premium shaving soap and aftershave splash are top-notch - the warm, amber-citrusy scent is perfect for that retro feel, and it’s easy to lather, giving me great protection throughout the shave.
I’m also using my favorite brush from Pacific Shaving Co., featuring synthetic badger hair from the FM Brush Company. This brush performs just like a traditional badger brush but without any of the downsides - it’s easy to clean, environmentally friendly, and doesn’t require soaking like real badger hair. It’s the perfect tool for an eco-friendly and smooth shave.
