My bathroom is almost identical in layout & where the tile is. This time was really pretty! Mine is all one tone beige with many cracked tiles. Mines got to go, but I wish the beautiful one you demo'd could have stayed. Nice work btw

I sure don't miss these jobs. You made my elbows and shoulder hurt just watching you swing that hammer. I used the small demo hammer with a 1 1/2" flat blade, small sledge, & an angle grinder with a diamond bit. That weight was crazy for just the walls. I've always wondered how much we've taken out of these jobs. I'm guessing this had the V notched joists in the floor also.

Thankfully no, just chicken wire over 3/4” planks. About 1 1/2” thick not 2-3” with the v notch 👊

Once you remove the wire stuff. What did you put up? Just drywall?

We did 3 bathrooms like this maybe a little bigger in 1 house, we had a 20 yard container....13,000 pounds!!

Those mid bed walls are tough. If you have another guy. We find it as faster to knock off the top row between the plaster and mud bed. Then pry it off the studs. Bringing down a wall at a time. Then cutting into more manageable pieces if needed, to carry to dumpster.

Yeah, I winced with the first swing of the hammer. When he first showed the bathroom I thought to myself it would be awesome if my bathroom l looked like that. But, it's his house so he should have the style he desires.

mine is almost like this through out my house, but mine has plaster and chicken wire holding it together, is that the same time period. but this is for holding tile and mine is just how they did the walls back then,. either way its messy.

@@BathroomRemodelingTeacher faster and cleaner. Time is money. Hold a wet sponge or a vac hose to the blade if the dust is too much.

For one I don’t have one, secondly I’m not sure if it will save much time. These walls were removed in about 4 hours. Rest of the day was plaster removal and talking while filming

In a previous comment he said the previous owner had painted all of the tile and the paint was peeling. So, shame on the previous owner for creating a mess of the artwork. I was shocked and disappointed to see it torn out as well.

@@robjohnston5292ok, that's why it looks so white. Mine is almost identical to this but the tiles are discoloring and the floor needs an update because there's a crack. If I could clean it up I would but it doesn't seem possible.
