I would NOT get married at such a young age (19), and if and when I did marry I would marry someone more emotionally and financially stable. The hardest and most important lesson I learned during my lifetime ( I'm 68) is how to say NO, I don't want to do that or NO I don't want that. Saying YES all the time so as not to hurt someone's feelings or to keep the peace is not healthy.

It all really boils down to these: Stop fearing failure and be less risk averse. Stop fearing others judgement of you and how you would look. Stop turning down experiences and opportunities that may never come again. Stop putting things off and end up never getting around to doing those things. Stop worrying and overthinking things too much and have more fun cause we all die anyways in the end. Stop worrying about tomorrow and be more in the present as tomorrow isn't promised.

One that I haven't heard is, "Learn to set boundaries and say 'no' to things you don't believe in." I’ve cried so many times at the aspect of socializing, making big decisions, and cutting people off that made me lose a lot of opportunities and cost me my mental health. I've also struggled with anxiety, and while I'm not quite where I want to be with it, it has gotten better. I have gradually challenged myself when it comes to doing the scary and overwhelming things and it has helped some. If you don't have the courage or energy to take big leaps, it is still good to challenge yourself in small ways. Sometimes it is better to focus on what you can do rather than what you can't.

the best way to get over it is to just jump right in it's so terrifying but it's rewarding, and is the most immediate fix i say this as someone with severe anxiety who ran away from so many opportunities for over a decade the next best way is small exposures. have a goal in mind of where you want to be (don't be afraid to think big). then, go towards that goal in small increments. ex: you want to become a famous musician. instead of booking your first show immediately and playing on stage, sing a song into your phone microphone, and try showing it to a friend, or one random person online.

I’m in my 60’s and I’d say to find something you’re really interested in and then try to do that as much as you can. Immerse yourself in it. If it doesn’t work out then fine. Move on to something else that you enjoy doing. I retire in a year and have had 3 full careers in my life. All unrelated to each other. They weren’t huge and they didn’t make me rich, but they were exactly what I wanted to be doing at that point in my life. When my wife and I are trying to make decisions on things we use the phrase, “Just jump of the cliff and build your wings on the way down.” So far we’ve made it every time, but you really need to have focus, because you usually don’t have much time.

Let go of ANYTHING , or ANYONE that hinders who you are. Accept that God made you and HE knows what HE'S done. Take care of yourself. There is NO guarantee that you will live a long, healthy life. Be respectful of the older generation. They've already been through what you could never even perceive. Pay it forward. Anything. Thank God every day FOR HIS LOVE AND PROTECTION IN YOUR LIFE. Did we watch the same video? 🤔 I find this a bit weird because, while wanting not to lose time you might need to over busy yourself with many stuff and miss to find what you really like and who you really are. Sometimes it might be natural to be paralyzed in a cocoon with lack of movement.

I'm glad that i'v learned this at my 30s, by myself ❤ and i would say the same to my 20s version. But learning and putting it into practice is a whole different level. Now I'm learning how to have the courage to overcome fear, because it's no longer hiding in the shadows of my mind.

So many of these videos offer the advice of "don't be afraid"...or something to that statement. As one who has spent years fearing and having things like panic attacks when put into situations, i.e. public speaking, etc., I never hear HOW to "not be afraid". It's absolutely good advice but it's only half. Fear is an emotion so strong you can't just turn it off at will. I wish it were so but I think it's why many people hold back. The fear just takes over. Oh the things one could do if fear didn't play a part.

That old lady who says we shouldn't worry about things Is right. we often suffer in our own minds than in reality and we waste our energy on negative things when we should only be spending them on positivity! We can't control anything or anyone so we should just let things go and hope for the best instead of worrying.

One advice I'd give myself is DO NOT let other understimate your feelings and trust yourself more. When I was younger, I used to priorize other's feelings and I didn't trust my gut enough. This caused that I suffered from anxiety and from low self-esteem. I doubted what I felt and when I expressed my feelings, people would make fun or just say: it's nothing, don't worry. For many years, I thought that the problem was me, but as I grew older, I realized that what I felt was important and that if someone didn't mind about my feelings, they just didn't deserve to be in my life. This is how I started to trust myself more. Never let other tell you how you should feel because this will make you feel as if you're not a valuable person.

This video came out 8 months and I’m just now seeing this and I love this so much ❤ I’ve struggled with anxiety since I was 16 (I’m 21) after my grandpa passed away. It went away for a couple years from the age 17-19 and came back suddenly last year. Three months ago I witnessed something quite traumatizing and my anxiety has been through the roof every day ever since, it’s never been this bad before. It at one point got so bad that I couldn’t even function properly or leave anywhere. It’s gotten better since that point because I can leave the house again and do tasks around the house, but it’s still an everyday struggle that I try to get through. Watching this video helps so much! I always think “When I’m older I don’t want to remember my twenties as a bad time and a time that I didn’t live it up. I wanna remember my twenties being good, I don’t want to regret things.” The things these wonderful people said in the video I always try to remind myself. Thank you for posting this video ❤❤

“stop worrying about things you can't change“ how do i know i can't change something if i don't try? Sometimes you have to try something very often before you know you can't change it. Sometimes you just have to make your own experiences and mistakes.

1. Don't get married. 2. If you got married, don't have kids. 3. If you want kids, make sure you are mentally and financially stable and also prepare way ahead how to become good parents. 4. Be nice to everyone even if they curse you. 5. Don't try to change people. We are all different. 6. Death is imminent and always there. So don't be afraid of death. It's just a part of life. 7. Learn science. Be curious and ask questions and seek answers why and how everything exist as it is. 8. Forgiving is not for others but for your slavation. 9. Start eating healthier and exercise. As soon as you turn 30, your body will start to get sick and weak. 10. Do whatever the fk you want. No one gives a s*** about you as much as you think they'd do. Go out and enjoy. You only live once.

"Don't be scared" is the main message here. I'm 2 years from being an adult currently, but there are many things I'm scared of. I'm scared to go to the gym, I'm scared to go shopping, I'm scared to go to places I want. All of them contrast with my ultimate dreams, which are to get fit, buy things I want and will cherish, and travel to places I've saved on my phone. I know my old self will say the same thing as all these people, but I don't know, fear is something I feel like I can't win against.

I'll give you some life advice. You will be old in the blink of and eye, enjoy your youth. You will lose everyone you love, enjoy your family while their here. It will be hard to keep making money after 40, and your body will start to decay. You will die in the blink of an eye, and there's nothing that will stop it. " Time is precious, yes it's true. A wasted moment never returns to you. A passing day spent leisurely, turns into years it seems. And all the years that have passed you by can never be redeemed ". I wrote those words about twenty three years ago at 24. Man are those words the truest words I've ever read.

One of the actually great pieces of advice I remember hearing from someone was “You don’t have an interesting life by saying no to everything”
@Adorrae
7 ай бұрын
It's about a balance. I'm a person that's still relatively young and have already done many things, took every opportunity I had, met tens of thousands of people. I don't have any regrets of things I haven't done but let me tell you I sure do have plenty of regrets of things I shouldn't have done. The wise words I would say that you won't hear often is that: 1. When you pursue one opportunity you are choosing that as your energy/time investment therefore you let go of other parallel opportunities. 2. You can try to pursue several opportunities at once but then you can end up being a master of none. 3. There are a lot of things to try but some things can put you on a behavioral path that's detrimental and it can come from such a subtle angle you won't even notice until too late. 4. Actions have consequences. 5. You think you control your life, but you really don't. You're a byproduct of your genetics, epigenetics, environment, upbringing, parental social status, cultural and legal obligations. The choices you actually have are very little. This is not a pessimistic statement, but an advisory statement encouraging you to use your choices wisely.

As a 53 y/o man, I would give this advice... Take chances, but do your research as well. Opportunities may seem too good to be true, but they may be ligit. On the other hand, it may not be. That includes something like taking a new job or an investment opportunity. Don't give up common sense because just to be a part of a group that seems to have. Don't fight to keep someone in your life. They have already decided to leave, and don't give up your wants, wishes, and values for them. In short, don't make yourself miserable just to make someone else happy.
