This was a perfectly timed sunset-flight at babadag mountain in Oludeniz/Turkey on 23.September 2024. I started from the 1700m takeoff area at 18.20, the takeoff was closed that day at 18.25 o´clock. Wind was coming perfectly straight from the sea and, to my surprise, there was still some good lift on the left side from the takeoff area. So I was able to thermal for several minutes before heading to the beach. When I was above the beach, the city was already in the dark for about 10min and they put up the light poles at the edge of the promenade to the sand. The lights and leds from the bars, restaurants shops etc. where already flickering. The GoPro doesn´t show how dark it really was down there at the time of the landing. Don´t get me wrong, it was perfectly fine for a safe landing, the footage is just too bright at the end, as the lights at the beach are only turned on when it´s dark enough outside. But the camera captured the bright orange light really good.
I was the last paraglider to land that day.
Equipment:
GoPro Hero 9 Black with Max Lens Mod 1.0, shot @ 2,7k / 60fps with all stabilization turned on.
The GoPro was mounted on a SkyBean Chase CX chasing-chute that was clipped in on a middle hook at the trailing edge of my PHI Sola 22 EN-A wing.
