Rapid Fire 4-second strings are notorious. The 8 and 6 second strings are easy once you master the lift...4 seconds is when the wheels fall off. The sad part is that Rapid Fire target bays are so damned scarce - I doubt there are two dozen functioning in the entire United States. It's a fun event.

PardiniUSA is a generous supporter of CMP competitors-supporting them supports shooters, especially juniors! The Pardinis are amazing guns to shoot. Nearly every aspect is tunable. Just wish there was a grip adjustment built in… there are aftermarket options, but shooting Steyr APs spoils a man for grip tuning.
@the_mihalich
Ай бұрын
There were grips from Walther with real adjustments. So that you can change thickness and width of grip itself, not just angles. I have Rink grip - and it is factory made model, not custom which was scanned and cnc machined just for me. But it fits me so damn good. Now some 3d print guys are trying to make solutions with adjustability. French team worked with university which made super ultra custom grips for their athletes. There was a device for training and grip manipulation with pressure sensors to see which areas are held by athlete with excessive force and it lead to "real" grip adjustments and also was there to train the athlete to get a soleid and repeatable grip force. etc etc

US market is "special" (like special olympics) where they upsell the match gun by dressing it as a rifle for plinking. And there are much more manufacturers - Morini, Walther, Benelli, Feinwerkbau, MatchGuns (by "That guy Morini" himself) but podiums speak for themselves. Paris 2024 was coverad in Pardini. And Pardini seems like a no brainer. One more remark on speciality of US market - US team has no shooting medals at Olympics = US dealer gives zero $%#... attention to event. Last update about combo deal for stock and banana mag with ar style barrel shroud. Meanwhile the main Pardini site proudly shows chinese champion with Pardini gun and 2nd and 3rd place as well Pardini - on the front page.

@ianhodgson221

Agree. The trigger weight changed in the mid 1990s. I remember this because I used to shoot the ISSF events and the triggers on my GSP needed replacing, so changed both the 1000gm and the 1360gm and shortly after the 1360 requirement was dropped. Grrr. The change from 22Short to 22LR for rapid fire took place in roughly the same time, the idea was to make Rapid Fire more accessible as a lot of shooters were ignoring it due to the different calibre requirement as the rest of the specifications for Sport Pistol, Standard Pistol events were the same as Rapid but the cartridge being different just made it more hassle.

Have pity on us in Great Britain. Since a notorious mass shooting many years ago, we are not allowed by law to own firearm pistols. We used to have a very good Olympic Pistol Team, but since they had to get on a ferry and travel to Belgium in order to train, we no longer have anything strong other than 10m air pistol. If they change all the tules to Laser only, we might get a competitive team again.

Part of the problem came from the NSRA. With the introduction of the 1997 Firearms Act they dropped all cartridge pistol shooting like a hot potato. This was despite the fact that possession of cartridge pistols was still allowed in the United Kingdom, specifically Northern Ireland. Various parts of the British Isled offered to host pistol shooting events for the NSRA and the NRA, but only the NRA initially took up the offer and that was with Jersey. Cartridge pistol shooting is alive and well in Guernsey and the Isle of Man. I've just spent this morning shooting my MG2 up at Slieau Lhost, can't shoot Sunday as some bright spark is closing the Mountain Road to hold a motorbike race.
