there pro at swimming why would they need a lifeguard
@ch1do121

Because any type of accident can happen. There are lifeguards at every swim meet because someone might have a random seizure or asthma attack or anything. Pro swimmer or not, lifeguards are needed.

If Phelps went the same time in his final 50 as he did in the Nationals last year, he could've went a 1:52 mid. If he cleans up his final turn and final 50, he will win in Rio easily.
If you look at how his stroke deteriorates in the last 25m especially, you can see he was hurting bad

He has a genetic advantage that cause his muscles to produce 50% less lactic acid than other athletes. This means he can work at higher work loads for longer periods.

alebastrgmailcom your really the worse type of person, During the 2008 Olympics, Phelps was questioned by the press as to whether perhaps his feats were "too good to be true", a reference to unsupported rumors that Phelps might be taking performance-enhancing drugs.[199][200] In response, Phelps noted that he had signed up for Project Believe, a project by the United States Anti-Doping Agency in which U.S. Olympians can volunteer to be tested in excess of the World Anti-Doping Agency guidelines.[201] During the Games, Phelps passed all nine tests that were administered to him.( also they took a genetic test and that lactic acid gene showed up )

Phelps like Ronaldo and Messi in football- incredible legend
Love Phelps imagine being retired and coming back faster than before. In my opinion it made him better and not to mention he is now 31 . Despite all that they did trying to bring him down in his career he kept his head up high.
Where is Chris Van Salza, swimmer, Santa Clara University? Anyone?

Waw ! I've never seen Phelps hurting that bad at the last 50m. God damn ! He swam the last 50m in 31"90, he started as bullet and sink in the pool at the end, until here he always knew manage his races. That's a first one for him, I think it's a bit worrisome for Rio.
