Time ago I have registered at my.olympus.com and also registered my EM1.2 with ZP 12-40. Some people told me that I should receive a promo code for that, but I did not see anything on the email which I provided. Did I miss something? Are there any currently working promo codes which can be applied on shop.olympus.eu? Kind Regards, Rob

I'd be really interested in a longer more detailed video on your thoughts about of using the spot metering an histogram for landscape/townscape photography if you get chance. Cheers

Do you find the quality better when shooting actual b/w, than changing it in lightroom to b/w? 🤔

Not really, but I like to see my images in B&W when I make the image.

All good points, Peter. I always set up a button for depth-of-field preview. It's probably the first thing I do with any new camera since I find it a very useful tool instead of just hoping for the best, especially with m43.

Does the manual WB adjustment you mention using a white paper work just the same in still photo as in video or they work differently? Do you set the manual WB in photo mode first to be able to use in video or you set it in video mode?
@ForsgardPeter

It does work the same way. You can use that same reference image in video too.

Great video. However, I am intrigued by exactly how, in practice, the spot metering connected to the focus point changes the way you photograph. I would love to see a video on the actual methodology you use to shoot using this technique.

I could use it when I am photographing landscape or cityscapes and want to see in which part of the histogram different parts of the scene is falling. using the spot meter and the green area like Zone system.

Great video as always, a question for you. I use Olympus Workspace quite a bit and it has stop recognising my cameras (em1 mk2 - em5 mk2) even to the point of not recognising the cards from the cameras, to import pictures to OWS I have to first transfer them to a folder on my desktop, I have not changed or update my MacBook Pro so I know its not that, I even when to the expense of buying a new lead for the em1 mk2 but that didn’t work either, have you any ideas?

Thanks for the reminders . Somethings we know and don’t think about them very often, but like most things, it is use them or loose them. That is why Olympus gear is an ideal tool , as it frequently gives us non pros more of we need for when it might become handy . We have all ready the handbook and watched, you, Robin and Rob’s excellent videos , but it sometimes becomes stuck in the little grey cells memory bank and does not get fished out very often, which is why these little videos are so valuable . Thank you once again for sharing your tips with us.

Good video Peter, interesting that you talk about spot metering, Derek Forss uses spot metering a lot for his photography in landscapes and interiors to protect the highlights. A lot of pros say don't use it, but it seems they probably don't know how to, Derek gets great results.
