How is the dinking and drops with it? Has the spray on grit lasted?
@pickleballtechdude

Grit has definitely lasted through 12-15 hours of gameplay. Dinking and drops were admittedly a little difficult because this is definitely a power-oriented paddle. Just takes some time to get used to in the soft game!

Solid review! I got my hands on a first gen Aero1 and can confirm basically everything you said. Being able to drive the ball with confidence that I could get it to dip was what I loved most. I definitely started speed ups way more than I used to ( both good and bad probably😂😂😂) and was surprised at how many passing shots were falling just inside the line. Really good feeling. I want to get the next version with increased grit for sure as I felt there was room for more spin control. Overall really great racquet, can’t wait to see what they come out with next!

1690 RPM is AVG. Six Zero Black Diamond Power provides more Spin 2217 RPM and the same power costing you $180 USD. I'm not a fan of Grit Paint. The Selkirks are a one night stand, after that it wears pretty fast.

True even Catherine Parenteau said she uses a new paddle every tournament because the spin on her paddle has degraded.

AERO¹ uses coefficient of friction. Definitely depends on your technique as well as it plays more like a racquet than a paddle. Tennis style play does get wicked spin.
@rdelnaja2558
6 ай бұрын
@@jonnygibaud7954 "Coefficient of friction"? If there is a break in period like there is with the Gearbox Pro, then someone needs to confirm. However, the combination of Coefficient of friction and GRIT paint would still see a significant loss of RPM much more quickly. Rafa already put together the Data Analysis which I really appreciate unlike other reviewers who go off of FEEL and what they THINK. I compared it to the other data available. the AERO would be under performing for me regardless of my tennis background. I'd use the Bread & Butter Filth over this paddle because the Peel Ply-Coarse will last long than the GRIT paint. It also has 200 more RPM and the same power, cost $165, and I wouldn't have to worry about wasting precious time and $$$ that will only last me maybe a few weeks or a month. To be fair, I have yet to lose any money, some companies return and warranties are really good, some not so much. We are obviously two types of consumers, I guess pick a paddle that'll make you happy.

@@jonnygibaud7954 I have a tennis background, Coefficient of friction or not, GRIT Pain will still wear much faster than than Peel Ply-Coarse or Peel Ply-Fine. RPM loss will be significant as well. 1690 RPM isn't wicked spin compared to other paddles above 1600 RPM.

Valid point. The spin is definitely better but the feel of the BD is just way different and closer to an all-court. This racquet has a target audience for sure and it's not anyone who prefers the BD feel! Glad you've figured out what works for you

AERO This 'utensil' certainly looks promising,. The name inevitably reminds me of the Babolat Pure Aero, which all-time greats like Rafa Nadal endorse, and which great players like Carlos Alcaraz use to this day. That tennis racket is one of the most spin-friendly rackets you can buy, and, if I recall correctly, someone who really knows how to utilize it -- like Nadal -- can get between 3000 to upwards of 5000 RPM's on his shots with it‼

100% true this racquet really fits the tennis player archetype - there's no paddle on the market to my knowledge that gets more than 2500 RPM bc of the restrictions on grit but hopefully in the future we'll see something like that HAHA

Aero by OM!!!! I have a viva pro gen2 - legacy pro - just ordered the hurache, but I sure would love to own the AERO. All my paddles cost me $130. $225 for a paddle is just too much for me so to win it will be awesome. If your a rec player and want a great paddle the Hudef Newera is so extremely powerful the USPA won't approve it. I love it.
@pickleballtechdude

The Viva Pro G2 is my current singles paddle - love that thing. Hurache is a decent paddle definitely oriented towards control in my eyes, but certainly those paddles are in a more affordable price range! This racquet is 100% more oriented for it's combo of power and swing speed so it's up to personal style there :)

Aero. Alright I had left a comment before watching the video, which I've since deleted. It is indeed hard to find a review by someone who isn't a content creator, but you really seemed objective. Still, I don't want to "try" a paddle for $225, but I really really really, as an ex tennis player, want to try this one compared to most the other brands. I'm quite happy with my Vatic Pro and some of my chinese imitations i've bought, but i've felt the need to hit harder lately.

90% or more of companies make paddles from pre-existing catalogs of shapes and materials. You can find all of Joola/Selkirk/6.0, etc. paddles on Alibaba which is why so many other companies copy them 🫠
