Anyone still watching this in 2019? This version is miles better than the studio version. I love how it's slower than the studio version and I feel like I am just so much more entranced by the music. I'm seeing OM in a couple weeks! I'm really looking forward to seeing them!!!!

Fuuuck man I wish I had seen Om when Chris was still with them, Emil fucks up all the old Om songs. Dont get me wrong, Emil is a great drummer and I really like the newer Om albums but he will never come close to playing the older material like Chris did.

How can you not get OM. Just look at the fucking bands name. It says it all. It has to do with meditation and inducing a trance, which if I was playing this wouldn't be too hard. Listen to Al's vocals they are like a chant. I think it's original and inventive

Does Al look like a vulture sometimes, hunched up on the bass? Like he's hovering above pecking out the groove. Maybe I'm just high... and something invokes me to watch the Rats of NIMH....

...you`re totally right! less is more, so people should listen to "dopesmoker" by sleep which has a genius drumming, the song is kind of carried by the drums. by the way dopesmoker is a kind of meditation song, too. For thousands of years people were fascinated by simple drumming rhythms, even till a state of trance, so fuck off with technical bullshit cause it`s about the feeling music has!!! long lives the sound!

People who criticize Chris's playing clearly do not understand the whole point to Om. Are his beats rudimentary? Of course, there is no way to argue otherwise. However, if you listened to the entire song, and really Om's entire catalog, you would see they write mantras, a serious or words and sounds that guide one through meditation. Busy drumming would completely obstruct the goal they are trying to reach.

The subtitles in the playing here are beyond the reach of all but the most studious musician. Which part of the beat the drummer emphasises for example. You could get any mediocre drummer and bassist in a room to jam and it would sound good, but compare them to these two it's almost as if they're from another planet.

I challenge anyone out there who calls him or her self a bass player to play this song better or even as good as Al. The same goes for Chris' drumming. And to all you misguided metalheads who believe that speed is the measure of good playing; It's not. In fact, speed has nothing to with it. But if you for any reason don't get this music, just exercise your right to listen to something else.

when somebody dont like cannibal corpse i can understand that definitely. but when somebody say everything that is related to cannibal corpse sucks, then i think this person certainly never heard anything about Blotted Science (Alex Webster on Bass). Then this guys are on the highest level you can reach in music, if you like their style or not.

@robotore The thing is, that's exactly what the new guy is doing. What Chris did WORKED. The new material suffers from the fact there's an overly "tech" drum fill every 10 seconds, it totally misses the point.
