Lovely video Roger. You certainly seem to have timed your visit spot on as the colours looked truly beautiful.

Thanks David. I was lucky that the colours were so good. I spoke to another photographer who was leading a workshop, and he told me he`s been coming to the Lakes to run workshops for 12 years, and this year was the best for autumn colours he had seen.

Lovely photos and very useful tips thanks, 3 Legged Thing make an L bracket especially for the OM 1 and you can still use most of the tilt as the gap in the bracket is designed for it.

Thanks for commenting Ian. Glad you liked the video. I know that 3 Legged Thing have a L bracket for the OM1. There was rumour about this before I bought my current bracket. Unfortunately , 3 Legged Thing brought it out a month after I bought my Ellie Small ! I should have been more patient and waited !

A Brilliant composition. You have got the best out of the camera with your skills. I don't think it's as easy as you described. Greetings from Sri Lanka.

Thanks for the very kind comment. Landscape photography is never easy, although when the lighting and conditions are good, it makes it a lot easier to get good images.

Good video and tips Roger. What does the L bracket and filter you use on the front look like. Info of types would be great. Keep posting. Thanks

Thanks for commenting. This is the L Bracket I use www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07Z52DT4S?ie=UTF8&th=1&linkCode=sl1&tag=bacpairelblo-21&linkId=29159a0b89619b4bcd9fe899f2221c23&language=en_GB&ref_=as_li_ss_tl If you have it position it out slightly, you can flip the screen out and still get access to the sockets on the side of the camra. You can also change the battery without having to take the bracket off. The filters I am using in the video are the Lee 100mm system. They are good, but take up a lot of space in a camera bag. I am selling them at the moment, and am changing over to Kase Circular magnetic filters. If you interested in buying my Lee filters, contact me through my web site.

Roger: Once again, a very informative and enjoyable video. Although I shoot mainly wildlife, I thoroughly enjoyed your suggestions for avoiding flare and other tips for excellent landscape shots. Thank you. PJI

Hi Paul, Thanks for the kind comment. Like you, I mainly shoot birds and wildlife, but when I go away on holiday, it gives me a chance to shoot some landscapes.

I use the Lee filter system. To be honest, if buying again I would choose a different system.

I tend to use my mobile phone with OI Share for remote shutter. No need to carry a remote and I reckon most of us are carrying a suitable phone.

I have used the mobile phone as a remote shutter, but prefer the cable release. I suppose its something I got used to from the old days before technology ! 😂

Hello, very nice Photos (high res. mode?) P.S.: Have you heard about a new high-end camera from OM-systems?

Thanks for the comment Richard. None of the shots were in HiRes Mode. I rarely use it because I find the quality is fine without. Not heard anything yet about a new high-end camera ? Where did you hear about this ? If so, its news to me !

Great video, as always Roger! I have a completely un related question i would like to ask… do you think its worth buying the om1 or is there newer or cheaper options that still provide, pro capture and all the amazing features.? Cheers, James.

Thanks for the comment James. Glad you liked the video. Regarding the camera question, - the OM1 is my main camera, and although I do still have a EM1mkIII, although I rarely use it. Its just a backup if I have an accident with my OM1. There`s a world of difference in the autofocus and bird detection on the OM1, compared to other Olympus cameras. OM1 is their `flagship` model, and OM Systems are currently offering a good deal on it. If you email me (via the contact page of my web site) I can give you a voucher code to get some discount on most of the OM System cameras and lenses. Hope this helps.
