Hi I’ve found a Mercedes om651 wis specs and the M8 bolts to the crankcase are 20Nm, not 10 like you wrote, that is usually for the M6 bolt. Where have you found that torque?

You're right. M8 bolt's tightening torque is 18~20Nm. I make an mistake when editing the video clip. Thanks for informing me. I always use Autodata® technical specification when looking up the torque and other information.

Hi what is the best way of ensuring prongs line up. Took old housing off o rings like those in video. Put new housing on as carefully as possible using silicone grease, but extremely difficult to ensure all three go in flush. Any suggestions welcome kind regards.

First of all, you need to use correct size of o-rings and holes inner surface should be clean and smooth. The way I am dong for inserting oil filter housing is like below. 1. Apply silicone spray on the o-rings and the holes where the o-rings go in. 2. Grap the top and bottom sections of the housing with both hand. And match the holes and inserts. 3. Push the housing with slight wiggling until the inserts are fully in. 4. Take the housing off carefully and check the o-ring condition. If there is no damage of o-rings. You can repeat the procedure above again. It was very difficult for me handling the o-rings at the first time. However, if you keep trying, you can have "know-how" of it. Unfortunately, this is the advice all I can give you. Good luck, mate!!

Hi, can you tell me the size of the o-rings? In the EPC, 2 with a larger diameter and 1 with a smaller diameter appear, but in the video they appear to be 2 with a smaller diameter and 1 with a larger diameter.

Hi ! Have you changed the housing or only orings ? Doing this 3rd time. 2 times done only tried changed seals but they snapped all time if lubricated by engine oil.

I understand that this is very hard to insert the oil filter housing into the holes. I always use silicone spray to lubricate the seals and holes. That's what I can give you an advice.

Hi thank you so much for the video. Did you have to evacuate AC system or can you move the compressor without disconnecting lines?
@b.k.automotiveservices9489

Thank you for your comment. You don't need to degas the A/C system. Just remove 3bolts holding A/C compressor and put it aside. You just need very small amount of additional space to take the filter housing out.

Hi.i bought a complete filterhouse with the cooler and i get confused if i do fix the filterhouse only without cooler?

Sorry for late reply. I will be good to exchange cooler set as the o-ring on the check valve spring in the cooler will be leaking sooner or later. However, it will be more complicated to exchange cooler set than this process.

Well done, mate!! I normally use a silicone spray on the rubber o-ring and mating surface for lubrication.

For me almost the same. 3 time disassembling thought this was an oil pan leak. But when checking how much it is neede to remove oil pan I thought better reassembly this again :DD Just a question did you change that oil filter housing or only the orings ? cause before I changed the orings only, and they always snapped.

Dear B.K. Automotive Services My first question : Can you tell me the oil filter housing bolts tightening sequence? Or just diagonally? The second question : Can you tell me the O-rings size? Thanks in advance 😊

Thank you for your reply. 1. You can tight the bolts diagonally, and the tightening torque is T30: 10Nm/ others 20Nm. 2. I bought the orings from Mercedes dealer. Sorry, I have no idea of the oring size.

Don’t put any silicone on this orings it must be installed without any silicones but put a bit oil on them so they will seat as should - silicone will make them don’t seat as should and stick to place as should
