A few months ago on an edition of Top of the Pops on BBC4, they played OMD performing their single 'Souvenir'. This single propelled OMD of being more than just a group of melancholy songs and matched them with the other excellent British Synthesizer groups of the early 1980's period. Souvenir was the first single released from the band's critically acclaimed 'Architecture & Morality' studio album released on August 4th 1981. The single became a major international hit for the band. The song reached number 3 in the UK singles chart. Souvenir remains the group's highest charting single in their home country, along with 1991's 'Sailing On the Seven Seas'. The song also reached the Top 10 in several European countries, including topping the charts in France, Spain and Portugal. Erasure vocalist Andy Bell has said that he is always 'moved to tears upon hearing Souvenir'. Keyboard player Paul Humphreys provided lead vocals and had co-written the song with Martin Cooper who had played live with OMD and was becoming part of the group. Souvenir was also the band's only hit single to feature Humphreys on lead vocals until the release of 'Secret' in 1985 and '(Forever) Live and Die' singles in 1986.

God people what's up with you.Enjoy it for what it was.I myself in them days was that high they could have had a brass band playing with Elvis on the drums and I wouldn't have known.Or cared.
