@@vittoriosavian9964 Which was a terrible argument: On casual commander diversity is never a problem, In fact I would say the point of the format is to play otherwise unusable jank and bulk and have it sorta work. And in cedh yeah well, take a look at the latest top decks and take a drink each time you see: 1) Tymna/Kraum 2) Rog/Si 3) Sissay/Kenrith/Najeela (All 3 except some-but-not-all Najeela decks with minor differences and usually 70-80% of the exact same cards) 4) Kinnan 5) Magda So talking about diversity in cedh is basically a hilarious joke to anyone that follows the format: the game is interesting due to the actual gameplay but the deck construction is so optimized there's very little deviation even in the commander selection. In fact you'd think new powerful commanders like Stella and Nadu would be a *welcome* addition to the format just to see some other types of strategies capture the spotlight for a little while, usually not long: See how far back Stella Lee has fallen out of favor in cedh I expect Nadu decks to similarly fall behind in due time once people realize 'Yeah I could just run Kinnan and have more space and effectiveness instead of needing far more moving pieces to get a Nadu engine/combo win'

I honestly like that Nadu decks are powerful enough that lets me be *flexible* with it on the same deck: I basically built it around Merfolks instead of the usual stuff, but with as many tutors as I can cram in there. So if I don't rush it and don't use my really strong cards right away, it's just going to look like 'Oh it's the Ixalan Merfolks! But they've been upgraded and brought in Nadu as well' and still put up a decent fight with just steadily increasing Merfolk numbers and sizes with their usual 'We've got islandwalk. No do not worry, we'll make you own at least one island too' But then if I see table is cedh or people are up to no good, then all beats are off and this is the fastest I can pull off: Turn 1: Forest into Crop Rotation, Sacrifice into Urza's Saga Turn 2: Second Forest, Urza taps for Colorless to bring up a rock (Sol Ring or Mana Vault) and drop Scute Swarm (If I need to tutor for it this is done instant speed or might extend things to turn 4) Turn 3: Urza Saga drops Shuko, Land for turn + Jeweled Lotus into Nadu, 4 triggers of Nadu that are close to or sometimes enough to spiral Scute Swarm into drawing out the deck and going for a Thassa's Oracle win (Dropping Lotus Petal and Chrome Mox as necessary to win, defending said win with Force of Will, Fierce Guardianship, Pact of Negation, the works.) But Nadu is so efficient that this deck can just play casual and basically play with the handbreak on the entire time if I want to, well at least until people get a hint when I end up revealing the powerful stuff when Nadu-ing cards.

Not a fun deck to play against. Especially if your group runs precons and its a 800 dollar Nadu deck. @dimitriid
3 ай бұрын
It's really no accident: for it to be truly cedh you still need to add fast mana and more efficient wincon cards like Shuko and most important of them all, good interaction and that's usually a ton of money for the cycle of free/1 CMC counterspells and removal. I get where these comments come from: Nadu can be *very fast* for casual commander but that's also true of Stella Lee in recent memory for example. Yet any actual cedh table would basically counter/nuke Nadu out of existence and given this deck list and most casual Nadu decklist, there's very little the deck could do about it before someone else goes for a turn 3-4 combo win. Just because one deck is faster than most in casual commander doesn't means it's actually ready to be competitive, unless it becomes like a turn 1 win attempt and even that is not unheard of in cedh table with stuff like suicidal K'rrik decks.

It depends, there are plenty of variations with landfall, and there it's a yes on excess.
