Miss this watch. One of the best watches out there, ever.

Great Review! I have the exact same watch and love it. All of the characteristics that make the fullsize clumsy and awkward make the midsize perfect… mainly the chunky bracelet and long end links. At 18mm and untapered they’re perfect. It is a criminally underrated Omega, but enthusiasts are starting to take notice as smaller divers gain popularity. I have 6.75” wrists and this midsize SMP and a 36mm Exp1 (124270) are the foundations of my collection.

@@malikknows3510 They each have their pluses and minuses. The Midsize SMP is the better bang for your buck… but prices are rising. The build quality and accuracy are every bit modern Omega. The size makes it a very versatile option and it looks great on a leather strap. IMO it wears slightly larger than the 36.25mm advertised size plus it's a fairly heavy watch for its size. The lack of bracelet adjustment is the only drawback in my eyes. I’m lucky to find a perfect fit removing links, but I do wish there was micro adjust for summer heat. The SMP hides scratches better than the Exp1. The Exp1 (124270) is more than double the price at retail and a bit more on the grey market. It wears true to size and is lighter. Its build quality slightly edges out the SMP - less bracelet rattle than the SMP being the discernible difference. The micro adjust in the clasp and Easy Link are the winners here. I use the EZ link daily in the warm months. The SMP was my first ‘real’ watch purchase and it was meticulously researched. I wore it for 2 years straight before I started building a collection. They both get looks and comments from enthusiasts, but the SMP gets more attention and lots of questions from watch nerds. Everyone knows the Seamaster but hardly anyone knows about the midsize versions. (Side note - both watches are virtually invisible to the non-enthusiast general public) They are both great options and forever pieces in my collection. The SMP is a true workhorse. The Exp1 is a grail achieved. My recommendation is to start with the Midsize SMP because it is the clear value proposition. Ignoring brand reputation and prestige, micro adjustment in the bracelet isn't worth double the price tag.

7:55 Unfortunately, not any watchmaker can service this due to it being Co-Axial (even though it's based on the 2892, there is substantial change in architecture and parts). I'd only send this baby to Omega for servicing.

Thanks for this review. I compared against the 41 and stuck with this one for my 6.75 wrist. It’s both comfortable, understated, tank built and elegant. I also compared it against a bb54. Tudor does a better job of not robbing the dial with the bezel (the dial is more inset on the seamaster) but they are similarly sized from a wearability standpoint so I’ll take the seamaster all day. Agreed that more people should look at these in the near future. I’m wondering how you feel about the size of your speedmaster now because that will be my next purchase.

I have the model that immediately preceded this (coaxial movement, but no ceramic bezel and still has the wave dial) and I love the feel of the midsize, but I think the extra gloss of yours plus that new bracelet really make it an ideal "dress diver". I wanna put mine head to head with a Black Bay 54 one day, and see if it's worth upgrading.

What you said about the bezel not being easy to tuen compared to coin edged, is because you're doing it incorrectly. You're supposed to grip it from the front, not from the sides. This is so it's easy to use the timing bezel while wearing diving gloves
