WARNING! Motor rooms are for engineers, well I AM an engineer, but guess what I mean is "authorised lift engineers". I know the dangers in these rooms as I've been interested in electronics and lifts since I was about 10 years old.
I can't put it in any other clearer words than this... you'll die if you touch the wrong thing in a motor room! Motors run on 415 volts, the cabinet is probably 110 volts! Keep the interest and passion going for what you enjoy, but don't get yourself into a situation where you may never come back. Be careful people!
--------------
I noticed this building on my radar and the unmistakeable shape of a motor room at the top.
It gets better, with the exception of a photoelectric beam in the doors, it's a completely original Schindler Platt lift!
It gets EVEN BETTER! The motor room hatch is unlocked.
Well, it gets even better, so guess you'll just have to watch the video.
Yeah I know "what's this guy like!?" you're probably thinking, but was so excited to see this vintage lift motor room!
I always try to edit my videos down to a watchable chunk, but, sorry, just couldn't do it with this one because there is so much in it that I just want to share with you guys!! I've cut it into two parts, but I'm sure you'll agree (well if you're interested in old lifts that is LOL!) it's the most interesting lift motor room I've filmed to date!!
Hope you enjoy watching it also! :)
Matt
